New Identity

IVY POV

     After we left the meeting, we sat back at the booth from before. " How did it go?" Sadie wants to know. "Okay," I replied. "I am sure you are just emotionally and physically worn out, sweetheart. Just remember we all got you now," Sheila says lovingly to me. She is quickly becoming like a mom to me. I smile halfheartedly at her. The other women start talking amongst themselves leaving me to my thoughts. I start staring at the doors, and I noticed all but Wolf and Mayhem exited. I am confused about my heart and body's reactions to Wolf.

I get lost in my own world of staring and wondering what is taking them so long that I didn't notice Tech approaching me. "Here you go," he utters as he places a manila envelope in front of me. I looked at him very confusedly, "What's this?" I ask. He scoots in a cross from me, "It's your new identity," he answers. I open it and look at the items. There is a birth certificate, driver's license, social security card, bank book, and diplomas. "Do you like your new name?" he inquired. Shit, I forgot to look at it. I blush crimson red. "I forgot to look at it," I answer embarrassed. "Let me look, but I am sure it is great," I pull the documents back out as I reply. Isabelle Grace Jones from Seattle Washington I read. "It's great. Will it hold up if searched?" I ask. "Yup" he replies, "She was a real person about your age and general description. She died at 4 with her parents in a car crash. Of course, all proof she died has been removed offline. I added some history for her online including high school graduation and college graduation with honors. Got your degrees covered for you," he brags. "Damn Tech, you are really good," I say embarrassing him. He blushed and got up nodding his goodbye.

      The double doors open again. I give Wolf a small smile as he walks out when our eyes meet. He sees me, has an unreadable expression, then practically runs upstairs. I don't know why but that makes my heart tear. I let out a small sob before I could control it. "Are you okay?" Sheila asks. "Yeah, just a long and emotional day. Can we go home?" She nods yeah. I give a wave bye to everyone. Sadie looks like she doesn't believe what I said but waves back. " I'll meet out there," I tell Sheila while pointing at the parking lot. I made my escape as fast as I could. What the hell is wrong with me? Why does he have this effect on me? Probably thinks I am some pathetic loser. Pities me like everyone else. I think to myself. When we get back to Sheila's, I excuse myself. I end up crying myself to sleep while curled up in the middle of the bed.
