"Passing thru!!!" Everyone paved way to me. I said my apologies sa mga taong nadaanan ko, I'm already late for my first class bv naman kasi si Vic nagpasama pa last night yun tuloy I was so puyat and didn't hear my alarm.
"Easy there Ye!" When I reached our building I stopped to pick up my long board.
"Hi Ate Aby!" She gave me a beso and then I fixed my bonnet feel ko lang nagulo na siya.
"Catch up later Te Ab, I'm so late!" I rushed to the elevator "Wait up!!"
There I reached the closing of the elevator I let a sighed out. "That was close. Thanks po!" Tinignan ko yung mga tao sa elevator and smiled.
"Hi Ye." Nagsmile ako when someone greeted me, I don't know her personally pero sa school na ito, I am not bragging mejo kilala kasi ako dahil I used to play for v-ball. Tumigil lang ako kasi nainjured.
"Sana you can play na this season, we have to bounce back."
"Hehe, I know. Sana nga eh."
The elevator rung, that's my cue. "Laters!"
I place my long board sa floor and off I go.
"Reyes, Mika"
"Present!"
Tinanggal ko yung bonnet ko and went straight to me seat. "Sorry po Sir."
"Next time don't be late Ms. Reyes you know my rules."
"Affirmative Sir."
"Ye sali ka ba sa practice game later?"
Nilingon ko yung nagsalita, she's sitting behind me.
"Yup, game ako! I missed playing na din. But don't be too hard on me ah. Rookie ako!"
"Luh? Si Taft Tower pa?"
I chuckled at her response and then focused on the subject.
For a year my doctor told me to stop playing what I love the most. Feeling ko tuloy I lost half of my life when they forbid me. I got involved in a big vehicular accident last year. Everyone thought it's either I'm dead or paralyzed. Actually it was the latter, I got bed ridden for almost 5months, may physical therapy naman but sobrang hirap kumilos pa that's why very light lang yung exercises.
"Yeye kelan ka balik sa dorm?" I heard my teammate/roommate asked me. Kinaylangan kong umalis sa dorm na para sa mga players because one, I can't move and two, hindi naman ako nakakapaglaro.
"Don't know. Hindi pa ko binibigyan ni Coach ng go signal eh."
Nagbye na din ako kay Kim, I said sa practice game na kami magkita. My Mom wouldn't want me to play volleyball again, baka daw mabinat yung katawan ko and that I haven't fully recovered daw. But this is what I want to do. Last year nawalan ako ng pagasa but when I saw my teammates crying because of we lost it gave me more reason to come back.
I am The Taft Tower for a reason, and I ain't giving up.
Kiefer
"Happy Valentines!" I kissed her forehead.
"Thanks Kief, you da best!" Trinca hugged the life outta me and I just smiled. I love this girl the most, lagi niyang pinaparamdam sakin that I am the best kahit mejo butata kami last season. Ni hindi umabot sa Final 4.
"How's Law School?"
"Exhausting. Sobrang daming inaaral, I just graduated but here I am again studying." Hand in hand we went inside the restaurant I reserved because tonight is special.
"Good Evening." The waiter lead us to our reserved seats.
"Thanks."
Being the gentleman that I am, ehem! I pulled out a chair for Trinca.
"Thanks Kief, this dinner is so fancy ah." She looked around, admiration is written on her face.
"Nothing but the best for My Attorney." Trinca gave me her honest to goodness smile and kissed me on the cheek.
"You're so sweet My Phenom."
Trinca and I, naging kami last year pa. She used to be one of our managers. Sobra yung passion niya kasi sa basketball kaya she joined the team despite her busy schedule being a Political Science student and all she managed her time very well, kaya talagang nagustuhan ko siya. My parents loved her automatically kasi because of her sobrang nagin focus din ako sa acads.
"Dear."
Dinner is almost over, I know we had the time of our lives but everything fell apart when she dropped the bomb.
"Yes honey?" I reached for her hand.
"You know I love you, right?"
"Uhm yeah. What is this about Trins?"
"Kief..."
"What is it Trinca? This is getting me all worked up."
"I'm sorry Kief."
"What? Why? What are you sorry for?"
"I can't juggle love and law school. I can't do it." A tear fell from her pretty face.
I didn't understand the rest of her parting speech, what happened was a cliché "It's not you it's me". Nagulat na lang ako she walked away, she even kissed me sa cheek once more and said thank you. Wow pare solid!
And with that Kiefer Ravena, The Phenom got his heart broken.
My thoughts:
Hi there! This is the first time ever that I posted something here in watty. I've been a ff writer ever since but not here and not about them. Dalawang tao lang ang kinaya kong gawan ng mundo na base sa mundo ko but I can't help but make one for Mika and Kiefer. I just love them both.
