Waltz With Me?: A Kuroko Tetsuya One-Shot

Grunts and whines can be heard inside a vacant classroom as two people share a moment in there.
“Kuroko-kun!!! Please try to make your body not so stiff.
“I am trying (Y/N)-san.”
“To the left! And be more gentler!”
“S-Sorry, I’ll try my best!”
“Hey! Don’t be so fast- OUCH!!!”

3rd POV
“Kuroko, its waltz, not Hip-hop. Don’t be so stiff!!!”
“Sorry (Y/N)…”
Letting out a long sigh after resting the foot Kuroko stepped on, you gulp the remaining content of your drink and walked towards Kuroko. “That’s ok, just relax, and I’ll just guide you throughout the performance.”
“But isn’t it the man’s duty to guide the woman in dancing?”
“With you and everyone, it can’t be helped, honestly speaking.”
You were paired with Kuroko for your performance test in P.E., dance performance to be precise. You’re very thankful that it was just waltz, a medieval, renaissance and regency era ballroom dance.
“Ok, let’s start from the start... Oi Kagami-kun! Can you do the routine with me?” I decided to do a demo with Kagami as my partner since miraculously, he is the one doing okay than the other boys. The girls are all good.
Someone played the music as Kagami placed his left hand behind and and bowed. Looking straight at my eyes? Check.
We turned around each other, eyes never leaving our sight, stepped closer to each other, raised our palms up to gently rest it infront of each other’s hand.
Another turn and he laced his fingers gently on mine, two walking around circles and switching hands, we’re now on the proper waltz position.
His left hand in a safe place on my hips, as his other hand raised mine gently using it to guide me through the SQUARE STEPS. After doing the square steps 4 times, he twirled me in a kind of elegant way and pulled me in a not so awkward close distance.
And that is the supposedly 2 minute routine that for some reason, no one could get to fulfill, even Kagami, except if it was me who is his partner.
And apparently it was a group performance, Kagami and the other first year basketball team members plus other female 1st years are your students. Too much for being a dance club president for a freshman. And then if they mess up, you mess up your reputation and your grades. Great. Just great.
“Kagami, can you tell me why you can do the routine with me and not with (random name)-san?”
“A-a-a-an-ano….” Kagami started to stutter.
“Owh I see, the great ace has a crush on his partner? Or maybe the teacher purposely assigned your crushed as your partners, un?” And with that, every guy, plus the girls are blushing, even Kuroko, but I don’t get why is even Kuroko blushing.
“Kuroko? Are you fine?” I touched his forehead and he fainted right at the spot.
“Oi Kuroko!!!” And as everyone of the Seirin Basketball guys tended on their teammate, I settled on giving girls tips and teasing them with my crushed.
A few minutes I saw Kuroko awake so then I called for the practice to start again. We only have a week to go before the performance. “EVERYONE LET’S TRY TO DO THIS TOGETHER!!!”

After practice, which lasted till night, the guys didn’t worried about missing practice because I told the situation to Riko, which is part of the student body, being the president of basketball club, we know each other that way. She then agreed for the first years to be excused for a week.
Then I don’t know how to react with this person tailing behind me. I know the person but it was giving me the creeps that he was following me all the way 10 minutes away from school.
Rounding a corner, he was looking everywhere frantically for me, thinking he lost me or something. When he was facing my back, I approached him quietly, yeah, ballet skills made of use. “BOOO!!!” I tickled his sides with my fingers as he let out a pretty quiet yelp and backed away immediately.
“What are you doing here (Y/N)-san?” He manages to ask after retaining his poker face expression.
“Whoah! Says the one who’s been following me all this time! WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?”
“I-I am not following you (Y/N)-san.”
“Awww... don’t be a tsundere! As far as I know, you live at the other city and not here, right?” I tried to tease him but just stopped because he looks so flustered that he can’t answer. “Ah, sorry if I make you feel uneasy, come with me, I’ll treat you with something.”
“Please don’t bother- *stomach grumble* (Y/N)-san…” And he was once again there, shy of his own stomach betraying him.

In the end, it was he who paid for everything, as well your orders. Well you ordered a burger, fries and large coke, because fuck diet, you’re a dancer. Then Kuroko was just with JUST a vanilla shake. Why is he even sipping on a very cold shake if it is friggin winter?
“A-Ano. (Y/N)-san?”
“Hm?” You asked him after you finished with your fries and now munching with your burger.
“Can you dance with me again?” He offered his hand to you, just like how you taught them how to start the dance you’re all rehearsing.
At first, you’re taken back with his request. Just hours ago, he looks like he was about to give up, now here he is, initiating for practice. “Ahhh… yeah, why not.” You glanced at your wrist watch. “I still have an hour anyway.”
“Thank you, let’s practice in there.” He was pulled me you by you wrist to somewhere… and… a basketball court? You shrugged your shoulder and just mumbled a ‘whatever’
Once you settled your bag at bench, you brought out your mini speaker and plugged in your IPhone to play the music, which is “Love Story by: Taylor Swift”.
Miraculously, yes a miracle, he was getting the hang of it, you’re not even telling him every little thing for him to do.
You two were now it the part where his palm would rest infront of yours when you finally broke the silence. “Wow Kuroko, drastic improvement in just an hour huh? The Vanilla Milkshake did some wonders, didn’t it?”
He intertwined his fingers with your as his hand rest on your waist, guiding you on rounding circles. “No, it is not (Y/N)-san.”
“Hm? Then what is it?” He has now his right hand raising your left in the air and you’re second to the last step of the dance. You’re currently doing the square pattern steps. “Don’t tell me I am your crush so that’s why you became inspired?” It was just one of your silly jokes but…
“Actually, you are my inspiration, (Y/N)-san.” He said and you just can’t believe or decipher what exactly he means so you inspect his face carefully.
Even with the dim light of the court, you could make out that he is blushing.
“W-What do you mean Kuroko? L-Like you like me?” It was now your time to be flustered.
“I mean precisely just what you said.”
“W-What?!!!”
Then it was the last step where he would twist you in cute twirl and then you’ll bow at each other. But instead of the bow, he scooped you down, very low and…
*chu*
He kissed you on your friggin lips!!!
“I’ve loved you for a very long time (Y/N)-san.” He then kissed you on the forehead.
“K-Kuroko!!!
“Tell me your answer after the performance next week, (Y/N)-san.
You could only just nod after everything that happened. That night, he walked you home and even greeted your Mom. Wow, impression. But that night you didn’t get any sleep at all. Thank goodness it is Saturday the next day.

Monday and Wednesday practices were surprisingly great and everything’s going smoothly!!! And our gowns and rather classy fancy coats of the guys are delivered. You didn’t order them to fit it but then again who are you to deprive them the joy? Guys and the girls ogling with each other’s appearances.
“Oi (Y/N) aren’t you gonna fit your gown?” Kagami asked while struggling to fix his cravat.
“Nah, I’ll pass, besides I am really sweaty.” The truth, you are not really fond of dressing up, being girly and all.
But Kuroko looks so cute with his outfit you could die. T_T. You just can’t wait for Thursday to give your answer!!!

It is now Thursday, and today is the mass demonstration of every student, every year for their dances. You were with the girls, helping each other with your Victorian Era themed gown and curly and braided hair. Or more like they are helping me because I don’t practically know what to do with my clothes, my make-up, my hair an basically with my appearance. Everything too fancy.
The guys were in the same room too, there were just a curtain for some privacy.
“1st years, Waltz Group, be ready in 10 minutes!”
“Yes Sir!!!”
And the guys emerged out of the curtain, the girls gawked at how handsome their partners are. Excluding me, because my eyes are solely focused on Kuroko.
Kuroko POV
I was so nervous waiting for a week for this moment. I was sitting in a chair, adjusting my clothing for the umpteenth time and I am very fidgety. I can’t relax! What would (Y/N)-san’s answer be? Did she find me kissing her offending? Would she talk to me after the performance if ever?
I was cut off with my reverie when I heard it was minutes before our turn.
We then emerged out of the curtain that separates us from our partners. And my job literally dropped and my soul escapes from my body. What I could only feel was astonishment of the beauty infront of me. My partner.
Wearing a pattern of gold and pink Victorian off shoulders dress, with patterns of golden laces and hair her kept in a big curly messy bun and adorned by crystal headpiece, she was indeed the most beautiful in our group. No, among everyone. She’s the prettiest in my eyes.
I approached he, eyes never leaving her, I offered my hand to her. “Can I have this dance, mademoiselle?”
“Y-Yes indeed monsieur.”
YN POV
It was you and Kuroko who came out of stage and followed by the others. You hear people make sounds of awe with your group’s appearance. A for effort with your appearance and costume.
First separated but across each other, the music started to play. You don’t know what has gotten to you, but the entire dance, you can and only see Kuroko solely and no one else. No group mates, no audience, just him.
Time seems to stop and everything was pure white. You were enjoying your time with Kuroko with a smile not until he twirled you and the crowd made a standing ovation for your group’s performance.
You all bowed infront of the audience and scurried back to the dressing room, but Kuroko pulled you somewhere else, which you suppose is a free area on the backstage.
“So what’s your answer (Y/N)-san?” He was holding you very close to him, with flushed face and questioning eyes, to which you find cute.
You can’t help but smile as you say your answer. Or should you say, DID?
*chu*
You pecked his lips lightly. “Of course, you made me realize with everything you do and all you actions that I feel the same way.”
And for the first time, you saw Kuroko smile so wide and with tears at the corner of his eye. “Thank you (Y/N)-san. And I love you.” He then pulled you this time for a deep and gentle kiss and this time you didn’t hesitated to kiss back.
“I love you too, Kuroko.”
And thus you conclude, being a dance instructor to a bunch of basketball players with stiff body isn’t that bad.

A/N: I therefore conclude that this is my most unorganized one-shot ever. This is just so f*cking random that I don't know how the story would go from here, to there. I am so sorry :(
