Chapter 39: Texas
BRANDON'S POV
We were leaving for the airport after the girls got home from school and this job offer is all I've been able to think about for the past week. I haven't told anybody except for Alex and the kids. I told Camryn and Danielle they could tell their friends but no one else. The boys on the other hand, had to keep it secret.
I decided to visit my dad to just tell him we were leaving for the weekend. I pulled into his driveway and turned off the car, getting out and walking up to the door. I knocked, chewing on the inside of my cheek.
"Hey Brandon!" My dad exclaimed, hugging me.
"Hey dad, can we take a walk?"
"Of course! I'll be back Harley!" He called, closing the door behind him. We walked away from the house and I was trying to figure out what to say.
"So, what's up?"
"I just wanted to let you know that we're going out of town for the weekend. The kids, Alex and myself."
"Why?" I sighed and chewed on my lip.
"I-I don't know if I want to tell you." I admitted.
"Why not? I'm your dad, you can tell me anything!"
"Promise not to tell anybody? Not even mom!" He sighed.
"Fine."
"Last week, I got a job offer in Austin, Texas. We're flying out for the weekend to check out the house and the practice and everything."
"Are you actually going to do it?"
"I'm thinking about it." I shrugged. "I feel like the girls need a change of scenery."
"Well, I'll support you in whatever you decide to do?" I nodded.
"Thanks dad. I mean, I really liked Texas when we vacationed out there. But, our life is in LA, our kids' lives have always been in LA. Our family, everything. Also, I really don't want to leave you and mom. I mean, mom doesn't have many years left and I don't want to miss out on the last few years of her life."
"Well, what did the guy offer you?"
"A huge house, two nice cars and triple my salary."
"It sounds nice." I nodded.
"I'll make sure to show you pictures of the house. I'm just at a crossroad. It's all I've been thinking about for the past week."
"Make whatever decision is best for your family Brandon. I'll be here to support you. An increase in salary could really help you guys."
"I know. Luckily, I have a bit to think about it." We talked a bit more before we came back to the house and I got in my car and drove away.
CAMRYN'S POV
"Hey Camryn." Chris said as he walked up to me.
"H-Hey." I said, turning to face him. "I-I need to tell you something."
"What is it?" He asked, a worried look on his face.
"I-I might be moving."
"W-Where?"
"My dad got a job offer in Austin, Texas." He wrapped me in a hug.
"Texas?" I just nodded, closing my eyes so I wouldn't cry. "That's so far."
"I know."
"It's not definite, right?" He askedpull, ing away.
"No, we're flying over there after school to just take a look at the house and such. It's a really nice offer and I think he might take it. Apparently, this is the second one he's gotten since he's had this job. I heard him talking with my mom about it."
"I hope you don't move, but if you do, maybe we can work something out between us?"
"We'll talk about it when they decide."
"Deal." He said, kissing my lips. I caught up with Hannah at lunch and decided to tell her.
"Hannah, I might be moving." I said and she gasped.
"Where?"
"Austin, Texas." I said and she gasped again.
"TEXAS? I can't lose my best friend!" She exclaimed and started to sob.
"I know Hannah. My dad got a job offer and if he accepts it, then off we go. He hasn't made a decision yet but we're flying out there for the weekend to check it out."
"Will you tell me the minute your parents decide."
"I promise."
"Good." She smiled, wiping her tears.
After school, Danielle and I climbed into the car with my parents and brothers. We drove to the airport with Eli and Eddie chatting about their day in school. We made it to the airport and grabbed our suitcases, walking in. We went through security and the boys started to get out of control, so my mom holding both of the boys' hands while my dad carried his suitcase and my mom's.
We made it to the gate and my mom took the boys to get some food, hoping it would calm them down. She came back and let them sit down.
"They are too much like you." She said with a smirk, sitting down next to my dad.
"Well, they are my sons." I smiled.
"I feel bad for your mother." She laughed. We waited around a bit more before we were allowed on the plane. The plane was set up so there were rows of two on the sides and rows of four in the middle. My parents had the two side seats while my sister, my brothers and I had the middle seats. My mom gave us gum to chew so our ears don't pop when we take off. I put in my headphones, turned on my music, drowning out my brothers' loud voices and drifted off to sleep.

"Camryn, wake up." I opened my eyes to see Danielle. "We've landed, come on." I nodded and grabbed my things, standing up and following my family out of the plane. We walked into the airport and went to go get our bags. My dad told me we should see someone holding a sign with our last name on it so we should be looking for that.
We got our bags and walked to where the limo drivers were standing, looking for our name.
"There it is." My dad said, leading us over to a driver holding up a sign that said 'Biersack'.
"Brandon Biersack?" The driver asked.
"Yes sir."
"Follow me." He said, leading us out of the airport. As soon as we walked out of the airport, I could feel the heat. It may have been December, but it wasn't cold like I expected. It wasn't as hot as it usually gets from what I've read, but definitely hotter than California. We reached the car and waited. "I'll put your bags in the trunk." He said, opening up the door for us. We left our luggage and climbed into the car. He closed the door and started loading our luggage into the trunk.
"THIS IS SO COOL!" Eli screamed.
"Don't touch anything." My mom said. "Just sit." They nodded and sat down. The limo had a red, velvet bench that wrapped around the car and had lights on the roof. We felt the car start to move and I looked out the window as we pulled away from the airport.
"Definitely warmer here than in California." My mom said.
"You haven't been here in the summer." My dad laughed. "It's in the 100's or high 90's bascially all summer."
"Do we have to live here." Danielle whined.
"If I take the job, yes." My dad said. It wasn't too long before the limo stopped and the driver opened the door for us. We had stopped in front of the hotel we were staying at. It was called Embassy Suites and it looked pretty nice from the outside. He got our luggage out and told us he would pick us up in the morning. We walked in and it was even nicer on the outside.
It had a skyroof and was ten stories high with glass elevators. It was a really big and even had an indoor gazebo.
My dad got us checked in and we went to the elevators, heading up to the tenth floor. We had gotten a joined room so my parents had a room and we had a room that was connected by a door. Danielle and I shared a bed while Eli and Eddie shared the other one.
After the four of us fought over the TV for a bit, my mom decided each one of us is allowed to watch one show before bed, the twins first since they fall asleep earlier.
While the twins watched TV, I stared out the window. It wasn't that bad of a city, I was looking forward to the tour we were getting tomorrow.
***
The next morning, we got ready and went downstairs to find the limo waiting for us. We got in and were driven to our possible, future house. It was beautiful. It was a huge two story, limestone house on top of some rocks that overlooked the city.
"Brandon!" A guy exclaimed.
"Hey Mr. James." My dad smiled, walking over to the man. They shook hands before my dad turned to us. "Mr. James, this is my wife Alex and my kids, Camryn, Danielle, Elliot and Edward." He said with a smile.
"It's nice to meet you all. How're you liking Austin so far."
"Oh, it's beautiful!" My mom exclaimed.
"How was your sleep last night?" He asked my dad.
"Wonderful, those beds are really nice for hotel beds."
"One of the best hotels in Austin." He smiled. "Follow me and I'll show you the inside."
We walked inside and it seemed even bigger on the inside. It had seven rooms, three more than our house in Los Angeles. It had a bigger pool with a waterslide and a huge backyard.
"BATMAN!" The boys yelled, running up the stairs.
"Boys! Get back here! Don't break anything!" My mom yelled.
"Oh, they're fine." Mr. James said. We were taken out to the garage where the two cars that were promised sat.
One of them was a huge black SUV, that sat eight. The other one was a black cadillac that sat five.
"These are amazing!" My dad exclaimed.
"I love them already!" My mom smiled.
"Now, do you want to take your family to see the practice?" Mr. James asked my dad.
"Nah, you guys can go relax at the hotel for a bit." He said, handing my mom the room key.
"Okay, Brandon, come with me."
"You guys come with me." The driver said to us. We nodded and followed him out to the limo. We got in and the boys were passed out on my mom's lap. We arrived at the hotel and my mom carried both of the boys out as we walked inside. We went up the elevator and into the room, my mom laying the boys down on the bed.
"I'm going to take a nap. Come get me if you need me." She said and we nodded as she closed the door behind her. I grabbed the remote and flipped through the channels, trying to find something good on.
"Camryn, I'm scared." Danielle said.
"Why?"
"Mom and dad really like it out here. What if dad takes the job?"
"I'm pretty sure he won't, but if he does, then we have an amazing as fuck house to live in. It's like two times bigger than our current house."
"I don't want to move." Danielle cried.
"You'll make new friends, I promise you." I smiled, hugging her.
An hour later, my dad came back up and woke up my mom so we could take a tour around the city. My mom grabbed Eli while my dad grabbed Elliot, who were both still sleeping. We headed downstairs, my mom and dad talking about what my dad and Mr. James talked about at the practice.
We reached the limo and saw that Mr. James was already in there. We got in and he showed us the middle school that we would be attending. It didn't look half bad. We took a trip down sixth street which had over fifty bars on that one street. He took us to go see The University Of Texas as well. All I can say is, lots of orange. Austin was a very cool city, I wouldn't mind living out here. But that would mean leaving my friends which I'm not sure I'm ready to give up.
After our tour, including dinner, we headed back to the hotel, having an early flight tomorrow morning. We all said goodbye and thank you to Mr. James before going into our rooms and going to sleep.
