"And why do you want this job again?" The woman looks up from astray sheet she had grabbed on the way inside the kitchen. You were currently being interviewed to get a job, if you couldn't tell already. The grill was already fired up and Kronk at his work station, people filling the notorious restaurant hoping to get a glimpse at the famous emperor. "Well, I need to provide for my family and house hold, as well as myself." She nods then writes something down looking up at you when done. "You're hired." You look puzzled. "Wait that's it?" She nods then throws you an apron, which you struggle to catch.
"Welcome to the biz."
Just then the doors slam open and you rush over to the door window peeking through. "Boom baby!" Guards filled the area and people shouted and cheered. Kronk threw off his gloves and ran passed you to the stranger dressed in red. "Kuzco! Nice to see you buddy!" They both smile at each other and continue to talk. A rather large man dressed in green walks up to both of them. "Hey Patcha!" You look over you shoulder to the woman. "Sorry to ask, but who exactly is that?" She gasps slightly. "You don't know emperor Kuzco?!" You furrow your eyebrows. "I thought I kinda made it very clear that I JUST moved here." She rolls her eyes. "Who has 2 legs and is going to serve him on the first day?" You groan. "Me..." She smiles and hums. "Don't worry, I'll come with you." You roll your eyes and tighten your apron. "Fine, lets get this over with." The woman wlaks past you and opens the door, pen and pad in hand ready to go.
"Hello welcome to (Name of the restaurant because I don't know it.) Would you like to try our speacialty with beetlejuice?" She clicks her pen. "Uh no tha-" He turns and notices you from behind her back writing mental notes on what to do.
"Emperor Kuzco? Is everything alright?" He couldn't stop starring. "Hello?" He shakes his head. "Hm?" She sighs. "Nevermind. Y/n stop hiding I'm not a tree, come out and greet the people." You hang your head and slowly walk out from behind her. "Hello...." The men smile. "Hello, I'm guessing your y/n?" Patcha asks. "Y-yeah." An awkward silence comes after. Kuzco clears his throat. "I'm Kuzco and this is my friend Patcha." Patcha smiles and waves. You shyly wave back and take a quick look around, Everyone was on their hands and knees or gazing at you and the group, stars in their eyes. "Uh, hi...Kuzco." Everyone gasps. "What?"
"He's the emperor remeber." The woman whispers to you placing her palm on her face. "Ooohhh..." You bite your lip noticing your mistake. "I-I'm sorry your highness." He smiles. "I-its fine." The woman then proceeds to take their orders and you, unnoticed, tip toe away to the kitchen. You open the wooden doors and walk into the smokey kitchen where kronk was cooking something, you didn't exactly know what it was. "Sooo how'd it go?" He asks. You sigh. "Not good. I bet everyone thought I was a disgrace, I didn't even bow!" He shakes his head. "That's okay, I mean I don't do that."
"Yeah that's beacuse you're friends."
He chuckles. "Yeah but everyone makes mistakes!" Your mouth makes a line. "You're right-" You smile and walk over to him giving him a quick side hug and go for the door. "-mistakes are just life saying 'Hey you didn't know but you did it anyways'." The door opens. "That didn't really make any sense." A chuckle was heard behind you and you turn. "Oh, your highn-"
"Kuzco. Call me Kuzco." He smiles. "If you don't mind me asking, why are you back here?" Kronk walks up to you and taps your shoulder with a mitted hand. "He can make special requests..." You nod your head and turn towards the young emperor. "Sorry I'm a bit of a mess..." He chuckles. "It's fine. So your new here I'm guessing?" You smile. "Yeah my family wanted to try moving somewhere different then c/n." He nods. Kronk moves back to the stove and grabs the nessesary tools to make Kuzcos request. He tells him the order and walks away to his booth, but then turns around to wink at you. You blush.
"Sooo he likes you." You speedyly flick yourself around to Kronk. "W-what noo. He wouldn't like me...I'm...weird." He sighs and looks up. "You're not weird, your just awkward." Your mouth flattens. "Yeah like that's much better." Sarcasim noted. "Well there is a possibility that he could." You tangle your thumbs together in a self thumb war. "You think so?" He nods while chopping some vegetables.
You smile and look out the door window. Kuzco had sat down with Patcha and his family smiling and laughing waiting for the food to come out. "Y/n its done." You take a sharp breath in and grab the plates from Kronk and he gives you a thumbs up and a smile, wishing you luck.
You roll your eyes and as confidently as you could, you stroll out to deliver the food. "Hey guys!" You smile politely and hand them the food. Kuzco smiles and thanks you, grabbing a fork. You grab the platter and walk away towards the kitchen. You close the doors and breathe out the extra air you held in while giving them the food. Your back slumped against the door and kronk chuckled. "So how'd it go??" You shake your head and get up. "It went by fast. Faster then I expected it to be.
He hums and goes back to work. " Welp that's waitressing for yah." You smile. "Hey I'm gonna take a quick breather outside if that's okay."
"Yeah it's fine, go right ahead." You quickly thank him and speed out the back door. The sky was so blue and not a cloud in the sky even suspected to have a spot of grey on them. All you could see was the lush green jungle underneath you, carts were slowly going up and down the dirt stained paths to reach the restaurant. Llama and Alpaca hooves were driven into the mud like cement. A gush of wind pushed pasted your shoulders, on a hot summer day it felt amazing.
The door opened behind you. "Oh, hi y/n." You look over your shoulder and gulp slightly. It was Kuzco. "Um hey, Kuzco." You look back into the jugle tops. "What are you doing out here? I thought you were supposed to be inside." You sigh and turn to him. "Yeah...I just needed some outside time I guess." He 'ohs' and steps to your side sucking in a deep breath of air. "H-hey this might be a bit weird but, I was wondering if you, maybe wanted to take a castle tour sometime?" You look up at him in surprise. "Really?! I-I would love too!" You clear your throat. "I mean y-yeah sure." He chuckles at your awkwardness. "That's good to hear. So Thursday evening about 7:00?" You smile. "I'm free then... I guess see you later."
You rock your heels back and forth before moving towards Kuzco and giving him a quick kiss on the cheek. He stops moving for a moment then slowly smiles, eyes wider every second. You wave to him and enter the building going back to work. Outside, he was still standing basically hearts sprinkled everywhere. "W-what just happened?"
