SEASON ONE - EPISODE SEVENTEEN
"MOON OVER BOURBON STREET"

[voiceover] "They say the passage of time will heal all wounds. But, the greater the loss, the deeper the cut, and the more difficult the process to become whole again. The pain may fade, but scars serve as a reminder of our suffering, and make the bearer all the more resolved never to be wounded again. So, as time moves along, we get lost in distractions. Act out in frustration. React with aggression. Give in to anger. And, all the while, we plot and plan as we wait to grow stronger, and before we know it, the time passes. We are healed. Ready to begin anew" Klaus says.

...The Bayou...

Rosalind step out of her car and walks over her sister and Jackson, with a big smile on her face and some pics on her hands.

"Rosie!" Jackson exclaims happily and she sees him running over her.

Hayley smirks and joins them.

"Where were you?" Hayley asks.

Rosalind holds out what was in her hands.

Hayley and Jackson frowned, before grabbing those pictures and both gasp seeing what it was. An ultrasound, well...a lot of pictures of the babies. The brunette smiles emotionally and hugs her sister tightly, still looking at the pictures.

While both sisters were enjoying the moment, Jackson was still stunned.

"Jack?" Rosalind asks waving her hand in front of his face "you okay?"

He smiles at her.

"This is amazing Rosie!" he says grinned "they're beautiful, just like their mom"

Rosalind smiles shyly, while a blush runs up her cheeks. Hayley snickered.

"I brought these for you" she says to Hayley "so we can put it at the refrigerator or maybe at the room"

"I can't believe how big they are" Hayley mutters.

"Neither I do" Rosalind says.

"Who is who?" Jackson asks, staring at one of the pics.

Rosalind approached him, standing side by side.

"The doctor said that this..." she points at one of the babies "it's my little boy and this..." she points at the other "it's my little girl"

The three of them continues to talk about the babies, when Hayley interrupted Rosalind.

"Wait!" The brunette says "You just went through the Quarter and got a doctor to do an ultrasound on you?"

Rosalind avoids her eyes.

"Rosie!" Hayley scolded and she huffs.

"Maybe..." Rosalind trailed off and seeing their faces she continues "Do not look at me like that! I am simply enjoying my pregnancy and trying to do things that pregnant woman normally does, which includes getting ultrasound pics and baby clothes saying 'best dad ever'" they laugh at her.

"Did Klaus see this?" Jackson asks and Hayley rolls her eyes.

"No, not really" Rosalind says "I was planning on showing him too, but stopped here first to greet my family and introduce to them, the soon-to-be Crescents"

Jackson and Hayley smiles happily at her.

"Rosie!" They hear Eve calling out for the blonde.

Rosalind smiles and walks over Eve, surprising her with the ultrasound too.

Hayley and Jackson stayed behind, looking at the direction where the pregnant blonde went. The she wolf noticed the way Jackson was staring at her sister and smirks recognizing that look.

'I guess he found the Labonair he wants to marry' she smirks at her own thoughts.

...Mikaelson Compound...

Klaus was pacing back and forth at his room, trying to call Rosalind. The blonde left the compound earlier in the morning and hasn't came back yet, much to his dislike.

'What a stubborn woman' he thought himself.

He was too worried about Rosalind's currently location, to notice a certain redhead entering his room, with nothing but her lingerie. She smirks seeing how distracted he was and took enough advantage to walk over him, without his knowledge.

"Rosalind, I bloody swear, if I don't see you at the compound in the next five minutes, I'm going to burn this city to ashes until I find you and when I do, I'll make sure to lock you in my room and only allow you to left when you learn how to pick up your phone" Klaus left a voicemail to Rosalind and huffs, turning around to see Genevieve smirking at him.

"Does your little wolf ran away again?" She asks in a low tone and he growled "I guess this was a yes"

"I do not remember me and my brother according with your lot running around my family's home" he says annoyed by her presence.

"I told you we would talk about the fun part later..." she says in a seductive way.

"The only fun I'm looking forward is the day you, bloody witches stop trying to control me and my family" he says angrily.

Meanwhile, Rosalind enters the compound with a big smile on her face, with the ultrasound pics and two pairs of white baby shoes. This was the first time she was truly able to do normal pregnancy things and create those memories she so dreamed before.

Walking further the compound, she smiles at some vampires on her way and they smile awkwardly back. She was especially forbade from hug or spent time with them, like she used to do. Klaus' idea...obviously.

She happily ran upstairs, towards the Hybrid's room, completely unaware of what was happening. Of course things had to go wrong. Typical.

"Hey Nik" she calls out happily opening the door, without knocking "Look what I g..." she stopped mid-sentence and gulps at the scene in front of her.

If she was to listen to their conversation five minutes before, she would understand that weird situation, but unfortunately she didn't...

"Oh..." she whispers awkwardly, feeling her eyes starting to watery, but she wouldn't cry in front of them, especially not right now. Hell no "I didn't know you were..." she trailed off with a knot at her throat "...busy"

Genevieve smiles sickly sweet and walks over the stunning blonde. At the end of the day, she got what she wanted: Rosalind now saw them 'intimate', even if it's not true.

"You must be the famous Rosalind" the redhead says "A pleasure, Genevieve"

Rosalind half glares at her and hides the stuff she brought to show to Klaus, behind her back, before clearing her throat.

"Yes, I am" she says serious "Didn't mean to interrupt whatever this was" she says looking at Klaus this time.

The Hybrid pushes past the witch, standing in front of the blonde, desperately trying to find the words to explains what she saw.

"My love, it is really not what it looks like" he pleaded and she scoffs.

"Classic" she mutters "Anyway, you don't own me anything Klaus. If you want to spend your time painting and screwing some hookers, then go ahead"

Klaus' heart clenched hearing her soft voice calling him Klaus instead of Nik as she was currently doing. It hurts, badly.

Genevieve glares at her.

"Excuse me!?" she exclaimed offended and Klaus smiles slightly at Rosalind's line.

"What?" Rosalind fakes a surprise look "It's your job right? For what other reason you'd be here half naked in the middle of the day, as if nothing"

Genevieve decides to push even more.

"Oh darling, he hasn't told you, did he?" she asks and Rosalind narrowed her eyes at her "I am Klaus' newest and best lover"

Rosalind glances at Klaus and backs away a little, towards the door, but before she could leave, he stopped her.

"Do not listen to her, my love" he says in a serious tone "Not even a single word that came out of her mouth it's true"

"Did she lie about Rebekah's and Marcel's actions?" Rosalind asks and Klaus shook his head. She smiles sadly "That what I thought"

She turns around and walks out of the room, letting a tear fall from her eye, but she quickly wiped away.

Entering her room, she grabs a bag and starts to full it with her belongings.

"Rosie, my love" Klaus says stepping into the room frantically "You have to trust me. I never even touched that silly redhead"

Rosalind sighs and looks up.

"Of course" she says sarcastically "because she was in her lingerie, inside your room, very close to you, because you two were having a good conversation as friends, right?"

"I spent the whole morning trying to find you. I came to your room and you weren't here. I was worried and she just entered in my room that way. I didn't do anything with her. I would never, I promise" she continues to pack her things "Please, my love"

"It's fine" she says in a weak tone and he smiles in relief, before she continues "it is not like we have anything for you to feel guilty about sleeping with someone"

"No" he shook his head "Do not say that!"

She doesn't answer, instead she just grab her bag and walks over the door, but he vamp speeds towards it and closes before she reached it.

"Where are you going?" he asks worried. She was leaving him...

"To be with my family, in a safe and peacefully place" she tries to open the door, but he doesn't move.

"No" he says sternly "I won't let you. You're not going anywhere"

She scoffs.

"Yes, I am" she says "I don't need your permission and actually, I am doing a huge favor to you" he raises an eyebrow nervously "now you can screw the redhead as much as you want, without me barging into your room accidentally"

"Bloody hell woman" he raises his voice. He couldn't let her leave the compound, leave him "I am telling you, I have never touched that woman and I never will"

"And I should believe you because..." she asks starting to get annoyed.

"Because I love you" he shouts and her eyes widen "because I cannot live without you anymore and even if I tried to be with another woman, I can't!"

She just kept looking at him, while he was freely confessing his feelings.

"And right now you're breaking me, trying to leave me because you don't believe when I say that my thousand years of torture and madness were completely worth it because now you're here, because you exist...because you're in my life"

"Nik..." she whispers, feeling her tears running down her cheeks "I can't deal with this right now"

"What..." he whispers with tears in his eyes too.

"You've lost your sister and you're feeling lost too. I get it" she says "But I'm supposed to be living the best time of my life" she glances at her pregnant stomach "I'm going to be a mom in a few months and the joy that this brings to me everyday is...is everything that I want right now"

"What are you saying?" he asks in a weak voice.

"I'm choosing my babies instead of me or anyone else" she says softly "They deserve to be welcomed in this world in a family home and this..." she gestures to the compound "...it's everything but a place to have two babies"

She finally pushes past him and leaves the room, with him hot in her heels.

"Stop!" he shouts, grabbing her wrist "You won't leave this compound. This is where you and our children belongs. End of story"

"I am leaving until I feel it and no one..." she approached him "...not even you can stop me"

"Yes, I can and I will" he raises his voice even more "You're carrying my children and despite your ignorance towards my feelings, I love you and I won't let you stay in a place without me"

"I am not ignoring your feelings" she shouts too "But how can I even think about it right now? Look at what I just saw in your room!

"I told you what happened!" he says.

"I know! But we're in the middle of the most chaotic situation ever..." she says and runs her hand through her hair "It's been one month since Rebekah left..." he looks away "...I've been trying to help you and talk...or at least to do something that might cheer you up, but you didn't even look into my eyes. You barely spoke to me and didn't even bother to ask about how the babies are doing, which are by the way, very good"

She sighs.

"But the moment I decide to leave for good, you say I can't?! How's that any fair?" she says frustrated.

She turns around and starts to walk over the stairs.

"Are you leaving me, then? Along with my children? Did you forget that as long as I'm away from you, I'm also away from my children" he tried to use their babies as an argument, knowing that she would do anything for them, so maybe she would back up...how wrong he was.

"Considering your lack of worry and interest on them these past few weeks, I'm sure you won't mind it at all" with that, she walked downstairs and out of the door.

Rosalind was putting her bags at her car when she senses a strong presence behind her. She sniffs and turns around to find Elijah Mikaelson looking confused at what she was doing with all her stuff.

"What are doing Rosie?" he asks concerned.

"Something I should've done ages ago" she mutters and he frowns.

"What do you mean?" he asks.

"Elijah I can't keep running around the compound alone and waiting for your brother to get over himself" she says "Right now, my children are all that matters"

"The compound is the safest place for you to be, we can talk..." she cuts him off.

"No" she shook her head "The safest place for me to be is with my family"

"We are your family too Rosie" he says softly and she smiles sadly.

"You know what I mean" she says and pulls out something from her purse.

She sighs and holds out the ultrasound pics for Elijah to take.

"What is this?" he asks curiously.

"Open it" she says.

He opened he paste and his eyes widen at what was inside. Elijah tried to speak, but found no voice at the sight in front of him.

"It's amazing, right?" she asks smiling.

"Yes. Yes it is" he breathed out in awe.

They stare at each other for a moment, until she breaks eyes contact and goes towards the driver seat.

"I'll take you there" Elijah offered.

"There's no need, Elijah" she says softly "You need to stay here and prevent your brother from ruining himself even more. It's okay, I'll be fine"

She opens the door and before she getting in, she glances at him over her shoulder.

"Can you...hm...give it to Nik?" she asks hesitantly "everything happened so fast and I barely had ti..." he cuts her off.

"What happened?" he asks confused.

"Never mind" she says shrugging her shoulders "Can you do this for me?"

He smiles at her.

"Of course" he says and she nods shyly.

"Thank you" she whispered and entered her car, driving away, leaving a stunned and angry Elijah behind.

He walks upstairs, determined to scold his little brother's behavior.

"Spoken like a man who's made peace with his demons" he hears Genevieve saying.

"My demons are dead, or chased off" Klaus growled, not even glancing at her direction. He was furiously with the redhead for being the main reason why Rosalind left.

Elijah enters the room and glares at Genevieve.

"Yes, apart from the one lingering monster with whom you share a bed" he says in disgust, now understanding Rosalind's mood and actions. Mostly...

He holds out her heels in his hand.

"I trust you can find your clothing and the door" he says.

Genevieve stands up, takes her heels from him, and leaves the room.

"You do recall that woman tortured our sister?" Elijah asks in disbelief.

"She also revealed the truth about our sister's treachery" Klaus retorts, not paying enough attention at his brother's speech.

"And as a consequence, Rebekah is gone forever" Elijah says, getting angry "and Rosalind was devastated"

Klaus gulps and looks away.

"A desire which Rebekah apparently harbored for quite some time!" Klaus says deciding to ignore Rosalind's subject.

He had no idea how he was supposed to get her back and gain her trust, which was killing him deeply.

"Niklaus, it has been a month. Now, I feel our sister's loss as deeply as you. But, you must stop distracting yourself with this ridiculous behavior and channel it into some kind of action" Elijah says.

"Why must I, exactly?" Klaus asks grabbing a paintbrush to finish his new painting.

"Because over the course of Marcel's tenure, the city grew accustomed to having a king. You wanted this throne. Now, you must accept the responsibility that accompanies that" Elijah says.

"Apologies, but I'm rather ensconced in other pursuits" Klaus says thinking about the pregnant blonde, while painting her figure at the screen.

"If you can so easily neglect your home, I wonder what will become of Rosie and your children. Have you forgotten what it was like to live beneath the threat of violence? We must work together, Niklaus. Let's make this city whole again" Elijah says, snatching the paintbrush out of his hand.

"Perhaps it is too broken to mend" Klaus says frustrated.

Klaus takes back his paintbrush and returns to his painting.

Elijah sighs and decides to do what Rosalind had asked, in hope to change his brother's mood.

"If you won't do anything, I will" he says and left the little box at his box, before walking out of the room.

Klaus looks curiously at the little white box. After a moment he decides to check on it.

Opening it he felt his heart shattering in billions of tiny pieces. He remembered to see this box on Rosalind's hands when they were arguing, before she left the compound, but he didn't thought it would be something so important like this. Now he understood why she was smiling so widely and also why she looked so devastated as she saw the scene at his room.

Looking down, he stares blankly at the two pairs of white baby shoes and the ultrasound pictures. The more he looked at the pics and imagine how excited she was to show him it, more angry he gets, not only with the redhead for messing with the things between him and the pregnant blonde, but also with himself for neglecting her and their children, especially now that she was gone for good.

A single tear ran down his cheek as he falls on his knees, with his heart broken in million pieces and continues to look at the beautiful pictures and running his finger on it.

...The Bayou...

Rosalind and Hayley approaches Jackson as they watch Oliver and another wolf sparring and wrestling outside.

"Shouldn't you be out there playing Fight Club with the rest of the frat boys?" Rosalind asks.

"Nah. That's just for pecking order" He smiles "They already know who's the Alpha"

"Ohh! Next up!" the werewolf shouts.

Rosalind, Jackson and Hayley go inside, where the rest of the Crescent wolves are setting the table for dinner.

"You two gotta try Tucker's ribs" Jackson says enthusiastically.

"Then, what? Then we're gonna go play horseshoes?" Rosalind asks in a funny tone.

"Hey! Don't mock country living, darlin'" Jackson says laughing.

"Sorry. This is just a lot more family fun than I've been having in a long, long time" Rosalind says and glances at Hayley "and Hayley never exactly had this kind of thing"

"Well, maybe I can help you get used to it" he says to the sisters, causing them to smile.

"Then all we got to do is just forget that she spent half her life with humans, and the other half with vampires" Oliver says and Rosalind raises an eyebrow "Forget about the miss vampire here?!"

"Ollie, back off" Jackson says annoyed.

"It's okay, Jack. If the runt of the litter has got something to say, he should say it" Rosalind says getting angry too.

"You know, word from the Quarter is your boy Elijah's holding some kind of power summit. Guess who wasn't invited?" Oliver says.

"Where did you hear this?" Hayley asks.

"It doesn't matter. The point is is that we're stuck here living in the swamp, while your vampire boyfriend's deciding who gets what in the city. But, I guess that shows how much respect he's got for the werewolves, huh?" Oliver mocked and Rosalind clenched her fists.

...St Anne's Church...

At the summit, everyone is arguing over Elijah's new terms.

"This is our city, too! We should be able to go wherever the hell we want!" Diego shouts.

"We would consider it an act of war!" Genevieve yells at him.

"We're getting nowhere. You vile creatures cannot agree" Kieran says agitated.

"Father, calm yourself, please" Elijah shouts them to silence. He lowers his voice "Thank you. Now returning to the issue of boundaries, you will all heed to the following..."

Their discussion is interrupted by Rosalind, who has just crashed the meeting looking furious.

"...Are you serious? You're dividing up the city, and the werewolves don't even get a say?" Rosalind asks angrily.

"What are you doing here Rosie?" Diego asks and stands up, walking over the blonde.

"Should I ask you the same?" she crosses her arms.

"What the hell is she doing here?" Genevieve asks angrily, standing up too. The redhead couldn't take the fact that everyone loves and cares deeply for the stunning blonde.

"Sit down witch" Rosalind shouts.

"You don't want to fight with me, little wolfie" Genevieve says.

"I wanna see you try anything towards me" Rosalind challenges "You and your kind will be sent to hell in a blink of an eye"

Genevieve took a step towards her and all the other presences at the room stood in front of Rosalind in a protective way, while she smirks victoriously, causing the witch the huffs and sits down again.

"Diego, sit" Elijah demanded, not liking the vampire so close to the pregnant girl "We are not dividing the city. We're establishing boundaries..."

"No, Elijah! There is not gonna be a peace if the werewolves are excluded. They want a seat at the table" Rosalind cuts him off. Genevieve scoff "And if they don't get one, I can guarantee that you will all regret it"

The leaders all begin to argue again, and Elijah pulls Rosalind aside to talk to her privately.

"Do you have any idea what it took just to get those people in one room together?" he asks in a serious tone.

"No, actually, I don't! Because I didn't even know what you were doing out here until someone else told me. Tell me something, Elijah. Did you leave the werewolves out because of me?" she asks frustrated.

"I excluded them because they no longer reside in the French Quarter. My immediate concern is to end the mounting conflict here. Now, I can assure you once this treaty is solidified, it will expand to include your people" he promised but she just scoffs.

"And until then, I should tell them what? Sit? Stay? Roll over?" she asks annoyed.

"I would prefer that you remove yourself from the process all together!" he shouts angrily, causing her to back away and place her hand protectively at her stomach, glaring at him. Elijah realizes that he was rude and seeing her covering her stomach, caused him to gulp sadly. His demeanor becomes softer "Rosie, are you absolutely certain that you shouldn't return to the compound?"

"You think the babies belong there?" she laughs sarcastically "You think that's where they'll be safe?"

"Is the Bayou any better?" Elijah asks and she glares at him "Rosie, I understand the situation between you and my br..." she cuts him off.

"The wolves deserve a voice. Give them one. You know it's the right thing to do" she says sternly. Rosalind heads back to the Bayou, leaving Elijah to consider her argument.

...Mikaelson Compound...

Klaus is on his balcony, looking out at the city, still thinking about Rosalind and a way to convince her to return the compound. To return to...him. Before returning to his room, grabbing a paintbrush, and returning to his artwork. He finds Elijah standing in front of his painting.

"Not a fan of cerulean blue?" Klaus asks sarcastically.

"Not a fan of your continued indifference" Elijah answered annoyed.

"Well, it's difficult trying to unite a community that has a history of mutual loathing" Klaus says.

"Spare me the platitudes, Niklaus" Elijah says.

"A perspective, then? If you want peace, you must begin with the werewolves. A hundred years ago, they had a run at ruling this city. As of late, all they've had is time to watch their enemies tear down that legacy" Klaus says.

"All the more reason why their enemies are reluctant to bring them to the table" Elijah replies.

"Take a page from Bienville, brother" He squeezes his shoulder "If the table's the obstacle, remove it" He pours them both drinks "Do you recall in 1720, the Governor's desperation to secure our help to build the cities first levees? We sat with him, and refused his offer, and so, he plied us with wine, with corseted women, and with raucous camaraderie until he had his yes"

"Are you suggesting that I throw a party?" Elijah asks smiling.

Elijah and Klaus toast each other and drink. Meanwhile, music starts to play in the background.

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~

Elijah has thrown an impromptu party at the compound, where all the factions can come celebrate together and mingle. Genevieve enters with Davina, Abigail, and Monique in tow. Diego and the other vampires are drinking together when they see Rosalind entering, beautiful and confident as always, with Jackson, Hayley, Oliver and the other werewolves behind her.

Klaus and Elijah look at the party from the balcony.

"I'm impressed, brother" Elijah says.

"Yes" Klaus says.

"Now if I can just keep them from tearing one another to shreds" Elijah says.

"Well, then for your sake, here's to a spectacularly boring evening" Klaus says.

Everyone is mingling at the party. Diego and some other vampires pass Jackson and Oliver.

"What's up, little man?" Diego says.

He purposely bumps into Jackson, which enrages Oliver.

"He's not even worth it" Jackson says to Oliver.

Elijah goes to follow after Jackson, sensing hostility brewing, but Francesca distracts him.

"Since you're preoccupied, I'll intuit your flattering compliment" She smiles "Thank you, I think I look stunning, too"

"I trust you've spent as much time fortifying alliances as you clearly have selecting that dress" Elijah says a little unamused.

"So you do notice me. And, yes, I've already settled the dispute over the docks. I pacified the witches with an increased share in cemetery tours, and I've given the Crescents a Welcome-Back-to-Humanity gift in the form of $100 chips to my casino. So, I think I deserve some champagne, don't you?" she asks.

Elijah grabs a glass of champagne off a passing hostess, but when she grabs for it, he pulls it away.

"Ahh. You know, in light of Kieran's deteriorating condition, the others have acquiesced to your proposal. You will represent the human Faction until he's ready to resume" Elijah says.

"Then, I suggest we make the most of our limited time together" she says smiling sickly sweet.

Elijah sees Rosalind enter the party, and stares at her in completely awe. Francesca followed his eyes and scoffs seeing to where he was looking at.

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~

Davina sees Oliver from across the room and smiles at him. He smiles back at her. Diego watches this happen, and angrily chugs his drink. Elijah notices his mood and intervenes.

"Diego. You will be polite and welcoming" Elijah says.

"Yeah, see, his people killed my whole family. My sister bled out on the floor right next to me. The only reason I'm standing here is because Marcel came along and turned me before I bled out, too. So, I'm telling you right now...I cannot be polite and welcoming to that" Diego says angrily.

"Diego, I understand your anger. However, there are certain overtures that need to be made, if we are to find a degree of peace" The Original says "if it clarifies your feelings, do it for Rosie"

Elijah leaves him and approaches Jackson.

"Welcome to my home" Elijah greets.

"I wouldn't be here if Rosie hadn't forced the issue" Jackson says.

"Yes. It's rather unlikely that you'll experience an outpouring of kind sentiment here. The vampires in particular view you as...well, barbaric" Elijah says.

"Rosie tells me that this peace treaty is important to you" Jackson says suspiciously.

"Yes, it certainly is. So much so, in fact, that if anyone threatened to dismantle what I'm building here, I'd destroy everything they hold dear" He smiles "Have a wonderful evening"

Klaus is on the balcony overlooking the party when Genevieve finds him.

"Looking for your little wolf?" Genevieve asks annoyed seeing the Hybrid's attention focused on finding her.

"Another word about Rosalind and you must consider yourself dead, witch" Klaus says angrily at the witch and she smirks.

"Just curious why you'd seek her company. She seems so...ordinary" she continues and Klaus growled.

"In case you haven't notice...I am not the only one who desires her company. She's certainly everything but ordinary" he says, still looking for the blonde.

"I can assure you..." she approached him seductively "...I could provide more entertainment than she'll ever do"

"I suggest you do not speak about Rosalind" he warned her "unless you desire to find a couple of headless witches by your door later"

She smirks at his threat.

"And I'd be utterly sad if I had to ensure your attention through your precious little wolf..." she pretends to think "...perhaps with her out of the picture..."

As he goes to do something, he sees Rosalind laughing along with Jackson while he speaks with her, too close for his like.

Genevieve took this opportunity to escape him. Even though she showed herself ready to hurt Rosalind, she was completely fearing his reaction.

Klaus continues to glare at the Crescent Alpha as he speaks with Rosalind, his eyes full of adoration. The Hybrid was about to act against their proximity, but as soon as he made eye contact with Elijah, he knew he had to control himself if they wanted to create peace between them. So he kept himself only glaring daggers at the Crescent and gulps down the whole glass' content on his hand.

Klaus sees Jackson whispering something to Rosalind, causing her to nod and walks over her sister and other wolves. He walks upstairs and Klaus follows Jackson into one of the upstairs studies, where he greets him.

"I'm so glad you accepted my invitation" Klaus says in fake politeness.

"So, is this where the great Klaus Mikaelson says something poignant, and snaps my neck?" Jackson asks suspiciously.

"I'm not here to kill you. I'm here to offer you a gift" Klaus says.

"Out of the kindness of your vampire heart?" Jackson snaps.

"Our hearts are more similar than you might realize. You see, long before I evolved, mine beat as a werewolf. I know your power. I know your burden. I'm here to take the latter away" Klaus explains.

"You want to make me a hybrid? I put my pack first, and I'm not gonna let anything compromise my family line, especially becoming some bloodthirsty vampire parasite" Jackson growled.

"That pride, that sense of loyalty? Well, that's exactly why I haven't snapped your neck yet" Klaus says annoyed.

"Well, if you're not gonna kill me, then what the hell do you want?" Jackson asks.

"Only to give you back the city that was taken from you. How is that for poignant?" Klaus replies.

"Why would I trust someone who's conspiring behind his own brother's back?" Jackson asks suspiciously.

"I'm not trying to undermine Elijah's venture. I'm supporting his vision. Vampires destroy life to survive, witches are only as powerful as their dead, but the werewolves have thrived because their strength comes from family unity. The safety of that unity is what I want for my Rosie and our unborn children. The painful truth is, vampires are the antithesis of unity" Klaus explains and Jackson raises an eyebrow at the mention of the blonde.

"So, what, after a thousand years, you're finally ready to embrace the other half of your family tree? Maybe the other half doesn't want you" Jackson says.

"Oh, they will once they return to the Quarter" Klaus smirks.

Klaus pushes past Jackson to grab a wooden box from his desk. Jackson becomes curious.

"You got a plan to back that up?" the Crescent asks.

Klaus pulls out Cary's ring from the box.

"My mother was a very powerful witch. I watched her craft all manner of magical items, but her most prized possession was this ring. I hadn't seen it for 1,000 years, and then it turned up hanging around the neck of a werewolf...a direct descendant of my biological father. I believe she gave him this ring as a way of freeing him" Klaus explains.

"How so?" Jackson asks.

"Daylight rings shield vampires from the sun. So, why not a moonlight ring to protect werewolves from the curse? Think about it! No more breaking bones, no more losing control to the beast within" Klaus points out.

"What do I have to do?" Jackson asks convinced.

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~

Elsewhere at the party, Rosalind is standing on the sidelines, watching everyone dance, when Elijah appears beside her.

"Would you care to dance?" he asks extending his hand out for her to take.

Rosalind takes his offered hand and allows him to lead her onto the dance floor.

"You outdid yourself! You even got your brother to come out and play" Rosalind says.

"Yes, it seems that only a sizable soirée is enough to tear my brother away from his efforts at the easel" Elijah says and she smiles.

"That's never a good sign. Nik once told me that his painting was a metaphor for control. For achieving his vision through sheer force of will" Rosalind says.

"Well, truthfully, I'd be shocked if he didn't have at least a dozen or so of those visions swarming around in that insidious skull of his. I do hope your children's inherits their mother's..." He gazes at Rosalind from head to toe "Everything"

She smiles shyly. He spins Rosalind around dramatically, and she laugh wholeheartedly as he smiles at her, unaware of the two pairs of eyes glaring at the original's direction.

"It is weird being back here" she says looking around.

"Not unpleasant, I hope?" he asks.

"No. I don't think so" she says.

"Are you entirely sure you shouldn't be here with us?" Elijah asks.

"Why, Elijah? Because you don't think it's safe in big, bad Wolf Country? I'm not gonna sit in a rocking chair and knit booties, or haven't you figured that out yet?" Rosalind says smiling "I know what I am doing and I am safe. Don't worry"

"I'll always worry about you" he says smiling weakly.

"Always a gentleman" she says in a soft tone.

Jackson joins them.

"Can I have a minute, Rosie?" Jackson asks annoyed. He didn't get the chance to ask for her first dance.

"You can have it later" Elijah dismissed. He didn't exactly want to leave her presence so soon, especially with Jackson.

"Actually, he can have this dance" Rosalind says "Thank you for your concern and for the dance, Elijah"

Rosalind takes Jackson's hand and leads him away from Elijah to dance. The original only stands there, annoyed by his interruption with the stunning blonde.

Jackson waits for Elijah to get out of earshot.

"Everything all right?" Jackson asks.

"Yeah, fine. We were just discussing the future of the city" Rosalind says and he chuckled.

"How can you be thinking about the city right now?" he asks in a funny tone.

"You would be thrilled with my capacity of handling multiple tasks" she winks playfully at him and he spins her.

"I should have told you how beautiful you look tonight" Jackson says "though, I'm not sure if beautiful it's enough compliment for you"

"Shouldn't you be flattering my sister instead of me?" she asks.

He only smiles softly at her and she scoffs playfully before they continue to dance.

Elijah frowns in jealousy as he eavesdrops on their conversation from nearby, while Klaus shattered a glass of champagne in his hand in pure range hearing what the Crescent wolf told his love.

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~

After excusing herself from Jackson, Rosalind went to the bar to get something to drink. It was completely odd to be pregnant in a party full of good alcoholic drinks, but she managed to get something good without it.

She smiles at the bartender and takes her ginger ale, but before she could take a sip of her glass, it was ripped out of her hands, causing her to gasp and turns incredulously at the person who did it, only to be met by the greenish-blue eyes of Klaus.

"What the bloody hell is that?" he asks with narrowed eyes, before smelling the content of the glass.

"Ginger ale" she deadpanned him "Do you think I am stupid?" she snatched the glass back to her hands.

She tries to push past him but he stops her.

"You look ravishing, my love" he says smiling.

"Thank you" she says a little awkwardly. She wasn't too comfortable in his presence after the lasts events "I see you and Elijah are trying to put things together again"

"Indeed we are" he agreed and caught himself in a trance, taking in every feature of her perfect face. He misses her a lot, her presence at the compound was extremely comforting to him and now she was barely on speak terms with him.

She notices his stare and smiles weakly, before drinking the whole content and resting her glass at the bar.

"Stop looking at me like that" she says and he finally got out of his trance.

"Like what?" he asks.

"You're staring at me like you're about to kidnap me" she says shrugging before frowning "you haven't thought about it, right?"

He smiles sheepishly and she scoffs turning around, but he grabs her wrist.

"It's time for you to come back, my love" he says sternly.

"I get to decide it" she replies in the same tone.

"Not when the your safety and the safety of our children are on line" he says.

"It is not" she glares at him "I am perfectly safe where I am besides your assumptions"

"If you think that I'll allow you and our children to live at the Bay..." she cuts him off.

"You don't have to allow anything" she half shouts "You're not my father and certainly not my husband. I am not going to deprive you from anything related to our children, but if you ever thought even for a moment that you'll manipulate me by using them...you should prepare yourself for hell"

They kept staring intently at each other, both too overwhelmed by the moment and the discussion, but it was impossible to deny the incredible sexual tension between them at that moment. His eyes fell to her soft naturally rosy lips and she unconscious bites her lower lip nervously. When he took a step closer and caressed her cheek, almost resting his forehead against hers, she backs away a little and cleared her throat.

"I can't do this right now Nik" she whispers and takes his hands off her cheek, caressing a little before walking past him.

It was almost possible to hear his heart shattering little by little.

~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~

Later on the evening, Rosalind and Hayley were chatting at the corner of the compound, while observing the party going.

Furiously, Diego picks Oliver up and throws him across the courtyard, where he falls onto a table covered in glasses of champagne which shatter upon impact. Diego vamp-speeds over to him, but Oliver pins him against a wall. Suddenly, Elijah appears and pulls Oliver off of him before pushing him against a table.

"This ends now. I won't ask again" Elijah says in a threatening tone.

"Oh, we'll end it all right" Jackson replies in the same tone.

Elijah looks over to find Jackson pinning Diego to the wall, a stake aimed right at his heart. Suddenly, Rosalind approached them in all her confidence.

"What's stopping you? Kill him. Go ahead, Elijah. Do it. I mean, it's not like he doesn't deserve to die" she says.

Nearby, Klaus and Francesca are watching the fight.

"Shouldn't you intervene or something?" she asks.

"Why would I? My love is showing everyone who's the boss. This party just got interesting" he smirks proudly of her, even though they weren't on the best terms, he couldn't hide how proud he was, seeing her acting like a true leader. A true queen.

"I mean, it was Oliver who handed Rebekah over to the witches so they could torture her. But, then again, wasn't it Diego who led a werewolf massacre last month? And the witches cursed the wolves, while the humans stood back and let it all happen. So, when you think about it, everyone here deserves to die" she continues and gestures to the people around.

"Are approaching a point?" Elijah asks angrily.

"My point, Elijah, is this...if we can't all learn to get along, if our families can't create some sort of community, then what's the point? Kill each other and get it all over with" she says raising her voice, letting a powerful aura erupts from her.

After considering Rosalind's words, Elijah lets go of Oliver, and Jackson reluctantly lets go of Diego, as well.

...Closing Montage...

In his bedroom, Klaus stares at his painting for a moment before grabbing a paintbrush and getting to work.

[voiceover] "All change begins with a plan, the success of which depends on several things: depth of commitment, passion for one's cause..." Klaus says.

At the compound, the leaders of the five factions: Elijah, Diego, Genevieve, Francesca, and Rosalind representing the Originals, the vampires, the witches, the humans, and the werewolves, respectively, have finally drafted their peace treaty. They each cut their palms and drip their blood into an inkwell, in order to sign the document with a mixture of all their blood.

Father Kieran clutches a rosary in the attic of St. Anne's Church and prays, while Cami watches him from across the room.

...The Bayou...

At the Bayou, Rosalind has returned to the long banquet table where they eat dinner, where everyone has gathered around to celebrate.

"HEY! TO ROSIE!" Jackson yells excitedly.

"TO ROSIE" all the werewolves yelled in unison and Rosalind side hugs Hayley. Both sisters in pure happiness.

[voiceover] "Willingness to embrace a new path. Determination to overcome any obstacle. And, in some cases, even making unnatural alliances" Klaus continues.

...Greenhouse...

Davina is still in the greenhouse in the lycée when Monique and Abigail return. They're shocked to see that Davina has magically restored all of the dead flowers in the room, all of which are now in full bloom. Monique glares at Davina.

...The Bayou...

Outside, Oliver and Jackson have a private chat.

"You made a deal with Klaus Mikaelson? I'd rather turn every full moon" Oliver says.

"If Klaus is right, this magic could do more than just stop us from turning. We could finally control what we are! We could draw on all the strength, all the speed, the raw power of our werewolf form. Our bite would be lethal to vampires, 24/7. The humans who hunt us, the witches who curse us, the vampires who hate us...we wouldn't just be their equals. We'd be their superiors" Jackson explains.

"What did Rosie says about it?" Oliver asks and Jackson glances at the blonde across them.

"She doesn't know...yet" Jackson answers and Oliver huffs.

...Mikaelson Compound...

Elijah enters with the signed peace treaty and the inkwell.

"Sign it" Elijah says.

"Why? You've already done so on our behalf" Klaus says annoyed.

"Brother, I am not a fool. It's clear to me you're not as disinterested as you'd like me to believe. Sign, please. If there is no peace between us, then how can you expect others to follow suit?" Elijah asks.

"Fine, if it will make you happy. But, I assure you, this city's inhabitants will not adhere to this agreement" Klaus says.

He signs the contract.

"Well, you are welcome to wager against me. You will lose" Elijah says, though his line had a more deep meaning...

"We'll see" Klaus' as well...maybe some blonde-related...

We get a glimpse of Klaus' painting, it's of the New Orleans skyline. In the sky, Klaus has added a large full moon and a little lower on the screen, it's seen a beautiful lady with a white dress, a pretty moonlight ring and the brightest blue eyes, just admiring the stunning sky. Getting closer, it is possible to see who it was...Rosalind.

Klaus smiles at the paint and turns around, resting the paintbrush and walking over his room's table, he picks up the ultrasound pics that Rosalind got and just stares at it, thinking about her, the babies...so many things.

He returns the photo to where he had previously placed since the day he got it, right in front of his bed, and returns to the canvas, his heart aching from missing Rosalind and their babies. He was getting extremely attached to her and having her around everyday was the best thing for him and now she wasn't there and neither their children.

It was eating him alive. If he thought he had already experienced pain, he was totally wrong. Nothing was compared to this feeling of emptiness inside him, not having her around anymore.

"Bloody hell" he muttered quietly, holding his chest, trying to ease the odd feeling inside his heart.

He stares at his paint for a couple minutes.

"Why did you left me, my love? Why?" he whispers and his eyes glistened a little.

Things were definitely not easy, but when they once were...

It couldn't get worse. Right?!
