The Witch Avenger

"According to the lab's records, two things are missing: Mutagen and Reagent-X, an ingredient needed to make a mind control serum." Ariana stated.

"I guess Lady Shade's goons are already getting her errands done." Ezra said.

"So what's the game plan?" Camilla asked.

"Reagent-X still needs an additional chemical solvent in order to work." Ariana answered.

"As long as they keep going to abandon Kraang labs, who knows what they'll get." Ezra wondered.

"Let's just hope Jinx and Crystallia haven't found all the components yet." Kirana said.

Meanwhile, Karen woke up on her feet and began to feel dizzy under a dark starry night. She looked to the small compact mirror in the alley and found herself mutated into a mage mutant. Her hair was dark red and her eyes turned cyan. She was now wearing a scarlet red and black full-body catsuit arranged in a harlequin's dazzle pattern with matching gloves and knee-high boots.

"So much for making a peaceful living." Karen muttered sadly.

Karen suddenly heard a soft, childlike giggling that caught her attention. She looked back down to see Neko's new transformation. Neko has thin dark pink fur with triangular ears and large blue eyes. She has short arms with three-fingered paws, large hind legs and feet, and a long thin tail.

"But you're never alone, Karen." Neko said.

"You can talk?" Karen gasped in shock and surprise.

"Yup." Neko smiled. "Think of me as your mage companion."

"Help!"

That scream made Karen and Neko jump. As they ran through the alley to track down the source of the scream, they immediately saw the Wuju twins mugging down a young teenaged boy in a dead end alley.

"Hey ladies!" Karen called out. "Leave him alone!"

"What the heck are you? A mage mutant hero?" Juni questioned.

"Take me on and find out!" Karen snapped.

Karen manipulated her hair as various actual whips and began attacking the Wuju Twins that hit them multiple times. She then used small pieces of her own hair in the air and radiated them in bright purplish light that made the hair strands explode around the Wuju Twins, making them get up from the ground in pain and running away out of the alley.

"Thank you! You just saved my life." The teenage boy told Karen with a happy smile. "You're a mutant hero!"

Out of nowhere, Joan Grody overheard the whole crowd clamoring around Karen and Neko as the cameraman stepped in to record Karen's appearance on camera.

"The Kraang's disappearance was as mysterious as their arrival, leaving some to wonder just who we have to thank for." Joan Grody reported to the camera with her microphone. She marched her way through the crowd and stood in front of Karen and Neko. "Ma'am. I hear people here calling you a hero for saving someone's life. Care to comment? What's your name?"

Back in the Crete Fortress, the K-5, Norbit, and Casey sat on the couch in the living room as they watched the TV about the whole story about Karen's mage mutant form that caught their attention.

"Elastika? Joan Grody should have left you in charge of names, Talia." Casey snickered.

"Eh, I would have gone with the Scarlet Widow anyway." Talia said with a shrug.
