Riku, the Shepard 2.
After Riku survived the fall from the cliffs thanks to the two headed dog, riku found out that the two headed dog was actually two separate dogs with strange eyes. Riku helped the dogs and camped out for the night, later they met a group that were going to a city called Amidahara. Riku met with the leader of Group, Lee mayfeng who allowed Riku to join them for access to the city. After entering, riku and Mayfeng parted ways but would meet up later in the square.
Riku enters the hotel in awe by how well designed it was.
"Orthie, Russ!" A man called out relieved
The man goes up and pets the dogs .
"Is that their names?" Riku asked the man curiously
"Yeah, i found these two wondering the woods a while back. They're scaredy-cats but they know how to defend themselves." The man answered happily while petting Orthie and russ. The man stands up, Looking at Riku and says "For bringing them back, your room is free until the Sword festival is over."
"Sword festival? What's that?" Riku wondered curiously
"Its how we determine the next Shepard. We give offerings to the guardian Seraph and if she finds someone worthy, they become the shepar but have to draw the sword in fhe pedestal first. Many people have tried in past but no luck for anyone." The hotel owner explained
"Never heard of this kind of Festival, makes me want to forget about resting and check it out." Riku confessed with interest.
"Well you should enjoy it. Ever since the government came back to Amidahara, things have improved since the Dark days." The owner encouraged riku
Something peaked Riku's interest and asks the owner "Dark days?"
"Before the government came back, this place was overrun with criminals. It wasn't until a Therion with a monstrous arm came and brought the government back here." The owner explained happily.
"Wait, A therion?" Riku wondered with curiousness
"A therion is a human-hellion hybrid. They devour malevolence. From what i'm told, she attacked the old government with a group and forced them to go back to Amidahara. Which eventually happened, then a new government was Established by a man named Yamamoto." The owner explained
"You sure know a lot about that stuff." Riku pointed out with awe
"Well, i have a lot of time on my hands, so i spend it taking care of the dogs or reading old history books." The owner said with a smile.
"When did this happen? The therion attack i mean." Riku asked intently
The owner thinks back and says to Riku "About 30 years ago."
"I wasn't born during that time." Riku realized.
"I don't know what happened to the therion and her companions but if they are alive, i doubt they'd help protect the world from being corrupted like amidahara." The owner said with doubt.
"Well, if you are i'll give them my thanks for making this place safe again, despite their method." Riku in a cheerful tone.
The owner smiles before handing riku a key to his room. As riku walked over to the elevator, he saw another dog. He was was black with a white underbelly and had an x shaped scar on his left back leg. He also had a belt around hid neck that had a dagger attached to it. Riku backs up, thinking it might attack if her got close but as he did, he accidentally dropped his key and it slid over to the dog. The dog saw the key, getting up and picking it up with its jaws while handing it back to riku. Hesitant and in awe by what he saw, riku picked up the key and went to the owner of the hotel
