(Chapitre en anglais car c'est le point de vue de Josh, enjoy/be patient guys!)

I watch Nathalie being escorted away by Ryder with a pinch in my heart. As soon as the door close, my father loose his smile an turns toward me. There's warning in his eyes.

"You are lucky, son," he says really low, almost in a threatfull way. "May have you not find her again, we would have never known for Charlie."

But I know he isn't happy. He's quite furious in fact. He prooves that right away.

"How could you not know?" he asks slowly, with a menacing tone. "How could you leave them alone like that? From what she described... You are unworthy."

Each words is like a fist throw in my stomach.

How dares he! Shadow growls in our head.

Relax. We just have to let him vent.

It is hard for me to keep Shadow calm, as he keeps growling in my mind. I breathe in through my nose.

"It is as you said. I did not know," I answer slowly, keeping Shadow from jumping on him. "You know perfectly what happened and how I searched for her, Father."

"Mmh," He growls before sitting back at his place, on his leather seat. He taps his fingers on the table, thinking. His piercing eyes d'arts to Sabrina. "You said Maddox sent someone to Ellon?"

"Yes." Sabrina answers immediately. "He wanted to create an alliance."

"Mmh... Ellon despises us but he is no fool. He'll never agree."

"He sounded like he despises Maddox even more than us," confirmed Sabrina. "Plus, he signed the new treaty without much problems. He won't be an indrance."

Father nods while massaging his chin.

"In any case, we have to warn our allies that it is a fact, now, that Maddox is back. Joshua, call Mac. Sabrina call Tristan. I'll take care of the rest. Oh and, before you leave, Joshua... Don't screw this up. Before she gets her own room..."

He doesn't have to end his sentence. I bow slightly. Shadow snarls. My grip on Nathalie's bags tighten and I remember to breathe. I leave the room, Sabrina trails me. After a while, she gets closer.

"You know, he didn't—"

"I know." I snap.

We finally arrive in front of Nathalies' room. Sabrina stares at me for a while as she balance on weight, but ends up leaving. I can hear Nat's footsteps so I toc. She opens the door slowly then completely when she recognizes me. I'm lost in her eyes a moment before I remember why I came. Shadow soothes down as soon as we smell her sweet vanilla scent.

« Tes sacs, » I explain with the clearest voice I can muster.

« Ah, merci. »

She goes inside to put them near the bed. I can see Charlotte sleeping on it. Nat comes back afterward.

"Tu as besoin de quelque chose?" she asks me.

Toi, I almost murmur, but I stop myself in time.

We can't scare her away, nods Shadow.

I know. She needs space right now. And some peace and quiet.

I shake my head to reassure Nat.

« Et toi? » I ask.

Nat almost laughs and shows her room with a gesture. My hearts itches as we almost heard it. It's been so long we heard the sweet melody of her laugh. What would it take?
