EMPIRE OF SCOLUS
NORTHERN PROVINCE
PROVINCIAL CAPITAL KAEL

It has been three days since the Cardonian flying swords terrorize the Imperial skies and dropped these great fireballs all around the Empire. These stories quickly snowballed from one merchant to another, and within days the whole Empire knew what hit them and became anxious on how to prevent it.

The chain of command as they know it has been destroyed in one day. Most of the higher demons are in the Palace that time for the Emperor's supposedly week long banquet after their successful attack on Cardonia's own Capital.

Local lords and Imperial commanders took over command of their regional units and what is left of the Main Grand Army after their main fortress also suffered the same fate.

There are no words coming from the Capital on what is going on. They feared that Cardonia did wiped out their hierarchy in the series of attacks. Tension between the local lords and generals both demon and human are sure to spark sooner or later.

The group of Northern representatives made their way to their homeland after "sprinting" from the mountains and fields. They are all wary of their families. Using their trusted steed, their war horses, they were able to cut off almost a third of the normal time it needed to travel from their homeland and to the Capital.

And from what they see from afar, their own place really isn't safe from Cardonian attacks. The hundreds upon hundreds of people evacuating out of the city are like a large ant colony that has been stumped out of their hive.

As they ride through the valley and in view of their homeland city of Kael. The pride of the Northern Province, a symbol of wealth and prosperity for the cold regions of the North, an economic powerhouse and a rising industrial center.

The local lord is unable to be physically present at the Capital, and being the only remnant of his bloodline due to not conceiving a hier. The representatives are assembled to support the local lord as a new one is supposedly would be replacing him in the next couple of months.

From their view, the city is as solid as when they left them, there were no signs that the thick walls have been breached or a large explosion did incurred, there are no physical evidences outside. But hundreds of people can be seen leaving the city and more are camping on the plains outside.

The representatives quickly then got off from their horses and asked the people about the situation inside.

They share the same statement, the explosion were 'small' compared to the rumors but the newly built industrial center at the NorthEastern part of the city was flattened to the ground. It is as if the Cardonians knew that this center could be used to produce weapons in times of war.

The citizens also described what have happened after the initial blast. Thousands have been swallowed by the large fireball that erupted in the center of the industrial sector. Hundreds have been either crushed by the crumbling structures and thousands in the merchant district suffered heavy burns, the local clerics are on their very limit. Trauma can be seen through their shaky eyes as they recount what have they experienced on the now shaken representatives as thoughts overflowed their minds.

The evacuees then continued recounting the events like how many succumbed to their injuries as the clerics are greatly outnumbered into the thousands literally.

As such even if the city is as solid as it looks from the outside, inside hell break loose.

They have learned that the local garrison, stables and the warehouses hasn't been the victim of the bombings. They sigh in relief as they would be able to hold out for the coming winter, enough supplies to feed the people and maintain order in the city but nothing more.
