A Story Of A Country That Got Isekai'd

Chapter 33 - Witch

"My Hero, I will grant you all your desires! Please help us save my country!" the King then lowered to his knees and leveled himself onto the ground and got close the woman.

"Hero? Where? Where am I?" after uttering the same words the woman fell unconscious.

The King then panics as he don't know what to do. He ordered his knights to take the woman towards his castle, they hid the woman on one of the carriages and hurriedly set off towards the castle. The very same castle that is still standing today that house the current monarchy of Cardonia.

The King then rejoiced at his castle, he threw a big celebration and it was attended by everyone at the city of Esden. The woman hasn't yet woke up and is being tended by the top doctors and mages, certain priest fron the church are also present.

A whole week has passed before the  woman woke up and of course she is lost. That is when the King personally rush towards her side to explain.

He explained in detail on what is going on and why is she summoned. But the woman then seems to be agitated.

"You got the wrong person,  I am a witch not a hero. You've probably got the wrong person." says the woman, then immediately wondering why she can speak their language and she didn't realize that she even understood the King. It seems the mages casted a spell on her to eliminate the language barrier.

For a couple of days the King tried to talk it out, but the woman, bewildered on what is going on puts on a strong facade. Thus the King gave up for the moment, he gave the woman, time to cope in this new world she was thrown into.

The woman spent another week not talking to anyone, but she was granted access to explore the whole castle. She can also visit the city but only if she is accompanied by armed guards.

Then one night the King decided to visit her in her bedroom. The woman then began to talk.

"Your Highness, I am Aurnora, the last of the witches of England."

"Pleasure to know your name Aurnora, I am King Kralue Cylvania of this graceful Kingdom."

The Elf Queen who was controlling the minds of the Cardonians were alarmed as they began to react shocked when they heard the names of the King and the Witch. It seems that they are able to recognized their names.

Aurnora then began to cry her heart out, her whole clan was slaughtered because of the ongoing with hunt sweeping across Europe. Magic is taboo in Earth, but the King assures her that this world is different. Because of her magic, she can save this country from certain destruction, she will be loved by the people. Thus with this way, the woman slowly opens up with King.

Being a stranger in this new world, the King let the witch accompany him in his everyday chores. She were even granted to stay with the King's side even on the throne room. Different mages then accompany her on the afternoon to train with magic. And she has monstrous level of aptitude for magic, she easily surpassed the great mages of the Kingdom within a few months of training.

During these times the young King started having feelings for the young beautiful witch. And a certain day on their everyday lives, envoys from Archesia arrived and brought gifts for the King, it was a ceremony for both countries to officially announce the betrothal of their monarhies. Both the King of Cardonia and the Queen of Archesia were both single as they ascended their thrones early. Both their fathers, the former Kings of their respective countries, were killed a couple of years ago in a summit with the Empire.

Their deaths were presumed as assassination by bandits, but it was the early steps of the Empire to politically weaken the both countries. Although their parents have already agreed for a fixed marriage, once they've ascended the throne, governing their countries became much more important.
