EMPIRE OF SCOLUS
GRAND BAY

A Cardonian P-3 Orion Maritime Patrol Aircraft were keeping a close eye on the happenings on the Scolusian Capital. With the destruction of their navy and overseas armies, the Empire has become a lesser threat and priority for the Cardonians. As currently they have no assets or whatsoever to present a credible threat to Cardonia.

But the ongoing battle in the Capital has been a key interest for the Cardonian military. From what they have observed from the air from the last couple of days, it is firmly believed that a separatist force were besieging the Capital itself, they were able to basically encircle the whole city, they also have quite a sizeable fleet of what seemed to be captured ships.

But currently the patrol plane was also monitoring another fleet of ships north of the Capital, their allegiance isn't confirmed at the moment.

"We can confirm at least 65 ships, made up of protected cruisers and steamships, and they are cruising at a steady pace of 12 knots. It would only be a couple of hours before they could reach the Capital bay's entrance." the radar operator said as he reported what he have observe from the radar screen.

The aircraft then circled above the Capital to gather more intel on the ground forces below. And after a couple of hours, the said northern fleet have reached the entrance of the  bay of the Capital.

By this time, the Cardonians have tagged the two different fleets, as the 'Northern Fleet' and the 'Separatist Fleet'. And they are given strict orders to not open fire on any of the belligerents.

The separatists have managed to operate a measly fleet of 35 ship. They are outnumber with almost 2 to 1. But they have a very key advantage if the northern fleet would proved to be hostile.

One is that, the coastal batteries albeit damaged from the firefight are still a potent defensive fortresses able to deal with the northern ships alone. And second is that, the separatist ships seemed to be more advanced thab those of the approaching ships, better guns and armor.

The P-3 Orion aircraft watched the tense meeting of the two fleets. The northern fleet were holding short, just beyond the range of the coastal batteries. And it seems they were trying to communicate with the separatist ships.

After a few tense minutes, the northern fleet began to pick up speed, and within moments they are underway towards the Capital.

*BOOM*

*BOOM*

The massive cannons from the coastal batreries goes off in unison as it tries to intercept the Northern fleet.

Salvos from the batteries then created dozens large wall of water near the ships, they are fairly accurate considering the range.

The second salvo goes off.

*BOOM*

*BOOM*

This time the shells or cannonballs perhaps, landed accurately on some of the ships.

*KABOOM*

A steamship exploded as she was hit at least by a couple of rounds.

A number of ships also suffered a hit or two, but it doesn't affect their steady advance towards the Capital.

Another volley from the batteries goes off.

This time the shells landed more accurately as the canooneers have better bearing on the targets by this time.

*KABOOM*

The accurate salvo quickly obliterated one of the very few protected cruisers of the fleet along with a number of steamships.
