Chapter 88 - Terror of Geilra

ESDEN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Three Air Force Bell-412EPI helicopters are being prepared for a quick mission a few hundred kilometers away.

A platoon of soldiers in full gear emerges from the hangar next to it. They are in standard battle dress and equipment, but these grunts belong to the King's Guard, the Special Soldier Service or S3 to be exact, one of the most elite operators in the whole Kingdom who directly receives order from the King himself.

The helicopters were then started as the S3 operators boarded.

They quickly took off, passing over the dozens of parked Azalean airships and through the high rise buildings in downtown Esden.

Their loud whirring sounds we're enough to catch the attention of the civilians below their path.

"Are we sure that we are dealing with those demons?!" a soldier asked.

"Military intel piece out the pieces, it is believe to be survivors from the downed biplanes."

"Ehh?? That's crazy! That's 300 km offshore right?!" replied the soldier as he skim through the large pile of paper report.

"What's crazy is that they wiped off the whole police department over there. The whole town is on lockdown, the police and military have encircled the whole area." replied the soldier.

"Eh? The situation is that dire huh?!"

OUTSKIRTS

Dozens of armored vehicles and trucks have surrounded the entry and exit points around the city. It has been hours eversince the local police department were virtually wiped out. A few coast guard vessels are monitoring the outlying coast.

The town is currently being evacuated.

"Commander Kole! Sector 1 to 3 have been cleared, we've secured a two kilometer inclusion zone from the factory. The target hasn't budge from it's original position." a soldier reported as he opened the thick iron doors of a command and control truck.

"All reports suggest that the target could be compared to a vampire. Isn't it because of the morning sun that is hampering it's movement? Too cliched and convenient if it is. Any news from the Capital?" Commander Cole then said as he observes the factory from above using the camera of a drone.

"It seems they would be sending the S3 sir." replied the soldier.

"The situation is that dire huh? They are sending the elites." contemplated the Commander.

From the drone, the scene of the massacre could be clearly seen, dozens of police officers are lying on the cold hard ground and all are implaed with this now violet crystal spear and or lance.

The three helicopters then shortly arrived near the command center, a total of 30 soldiers disembarked shortly after.

"Nice to meet you Commander Kole, 1st Lt. Daryl of the Special Soldier Service." said the soldier with the blue beret.

"We weren't expecting they would be sending special forces." the commander replied.

"Special enemies need special soldiers, or so our motto goes." replied the Lt. as he try to break the ice with a joke.

The Commander weren't keen on his reply. He then led the soldiers towards his command truck.

After they were settled down, the debrief started.

"The target, now codenamed Vampyr attacked and killed the officers whom are trying to arrest her after setting a entrapment operation. Shortly after the remaining officers tried to engage the monster even though a certain police lieutenant are trying to stop them and hence they also failed." Commander Kole explained as they look on the large tv screen displaying the map of the town were the events occured.
