Amortentia

Of course I had to include an amortentia chapter lol

"What?" I spluttered "what did you just..?" I looked at him longingly, did he just say "mine?" like my dream, like 'our' dream?

He looked at me like a deer in headlights. He moved his thumb from my face and started to stand up.

"um- Fine? I said... I asked if you were fine" he said, not looking me in the eye. He looked flustered, Freddie never looked flustered, ever.

He held his hand out to me, I slowly took it and climbed out of the prickly bush we had landed ourselves in. "fine." I nodded "I'm fine"

Just then, George and Ophelia caught up, "bloody hell, you two look like you've been roughed up!" George exclaimed

"we em, took a tumble" I said, trying to force a slight giggle. I walked to Ophelia's side and linked her arm in mine. "if you'll excuse us, we've got some heavy shopping to do so we'd better get a move on" I started speed-walking, my cheeks were burning and I had to lower my head walking past Fred

"Clara what's the matter with you?" Ophelia questioned as I practically dragged her through the entrance to Hogsmeade

My eyes started pooling with tears "nothing" I shook my head "I just hurt myself a bit when I fell and didn't want the twins to see me cry because of it, I'd never hear the end of it ya know?" I laughed, wiping my under eye as I looked up to stop the tears from falling.

"sure" Ophelia said looking at me with concern. "anyways what shops are we going to then?" she asked

"all of them" I replied

"good answer" she smirked. We linked arms again and started to wander round the village, bobbing in and out of shops

We came across a small jewellers, it was small but boy was it expensive. Ophelia was busy buying a pair of earrings she liked so I indulged myself a little and started looking around at all the jewellery. It was all of course, way out of my budget. Dad and I don't struggle for money and he does send me a pretty good allowance but there's no way I could afford any of this, not unless I saved up for months.

I knew I'd need to buy a dress for the Yuleball soon anyways, it was just over a couple of weeks away so all my money will be going towards that. A necklace right in the corner caught my eye though, it was a dainty silver one. When I looked closer at it, the charm was a small bird- a little bird even, it was on it side, with its wings spread and it had a small blue gem for an eye.

It was gorgeous.

Gorgeous but expensive.

I moved away from the stand with the necklace, but I couldn't quite turn my head from it.

"Like what you see?" Ophelia asked, pointing over my shoulder to the necklace

"I love what I see, but I hate the price tag. Let's get going" I said linking with her arm that wasn't yet covered in shopping bags

We decided to sit on a bench outside for a minute- "so your date" I started "when is it?"

"tonight" she replied, "a date with him tonight, then by tomorrow Krum will be head over heels for me and no doubt asks me to the ball"

"sounds like you're sorted then" I said

"yes, but of course I'll only have one date. Unlike some of us" she grinned, nudging my arm

"very funny. In my defence I would ideally only have one date, but..." I let myself trail off

All of a sudden- "there you are!" shouted Jade as she came running over, I've been looking for you pair everywhere. Oliver and I met the twins at the quidditch supply store and they said you'd run off"
