It was a normal day for the Boudreaux household. Alastor had already went to work and Mama Amelie had run into town. (Y/n) was currently sweeping the house so Mama Amelie wouldn't have to. It was early in the morning. The paperboy hadn't come yet.

A thump is heard and (Y/n) goes to collect the paper. 'Right on time.' He thinks.

He hums to the music and unravels the paper. He pulls out the ironing board and starts to dry the ink. He sees the headline and gasps.

"Missing Persons Cases Rise; Police Puzzled."

(Y/n) turns the iron off and skims the paper. He quickly goes through the column and rechecks the details. He takes a breath.

"They haven't got a clue it's us. They have no leads. One body found, rest are suspected dead still considered missing. That means they think it's someone else. Shit! We shouldn't draw attention to ourselves." (Y/n) mutters to himself.

Mama Amelie hears (Y/n) talking to himself and pops her head in. "Whatcha thinking so hard bout?"

(Y/n) takes her the paper, "The police are looking for the kills we did. They have no leads... but Al and I could get caught if we're not careful."

Mama Amelie nods, "Should tell him. You best go down during his break."

The two went about their day again. Mama Amelie explained to (Y/n) that she used to be a governess until a few years ago. Now she would spend one day a week teaching the youngins in the neighbourhood about voodoo. It helped to pass the the for both, talking about the past. When the time came, (Y/n) rushed off to visit Alastor. He couldn't call the office because the operator would hear the conversation.

(Y/n) had spent most of the year coming in and out of the station at that point so he just gave a polite wave to Seraphina and made it to the box. He looks through the new window they installed and waves. Alastor finishes his piece and then switches to music. He opens the door.

(Y/n) closes the door once inside and whispers, "we off the air? Mics off and everything?"

Alastor nods, "What's the matter?"

(Y/n) holds up the newspaper and says, "I think they're on to us. Not that they know our identity, but the kills."

Alastor thinks about it for a second, as he reads. He makes sure to get detail and shrugs, "They won't find the bodies. Long as we're careful they can't connect us to the missing persons."

(Y/n) asks, "Should we slow down?"

Alastor shakes his head, "no."

(Y/n) says, "But-"

Alastor cuts him off, "Go home. We'll talk then."

So, (Y/n) goes back home. The two do talk and Alastor insists that they'd be fine. Two months go by and the police still had no clue who was behind these missing persons disappearance. Every lead had lead to a dead end. It was only when Alastor and (Y/n) had to run through the bayou so they didn't get caught that Alastor agreed they would have to stop.

Alastor and (Y/n) through the dark wooded area. The water on the ground was shallow allowing them a mostly safe path back home. There were footsteps and splashes nearby along with a glow of yellow light from the police. Alastor could barely hear the shouts of the following law enforcers as he ran past the edge of the water. (Y/n) slipped along and glanced back to see the cops slip as well. He followed Alastor as they made a sharp turn behind an old tree. Alastor caught the male before he could run further.
