Chapter 5

"I love you more than you can imagine", he said.

"No matter what?", she asked.

"No matter what", Dre replied.

Aaliyah looked at him and Dre looked at her. They began kissing and after a moment Aaliyah pulled away and looked away.

"What's wrong?", Dre asked.

"I need to tell-"

Suddenly, it was banging on the door.

Aaliyah got off of Dre's lap and Dre stood up and walked to the door. He looked out the peak hole and it was Carmen. He opened the door and Carmen walked right through.

"You know the doorbell would've been nice", Dre said.

"You know, you leaving my sister here all day wasnt right?", Carmen asked.

Dre looked at Aaliyah.

Aaliyah looked away.

Carmen looked at Aaliyah. "We need to talk", she said.

"About what?", Aaliyah asked.

"Alone", Carmen said. "Now"

Carmen walked to the backyard and Aaliyah followed.

"I like the lights. It's cute", Carmen said.

"What Carmen?", Aaliyah asked.

"I know this isn't the right time but since you know that Jada is some what safe, I thought I'd vent", Carmen said.

"About?", Aaliyah asked.

"Remember that girl I was dating?", Carmen asked.

"Yea. How are you guys?", Aaliyah asked.

"I'm going to kill her", Carmen said.

Aaliyah chuckled.

"I'm serious", Carmen said with a straight face.

Aaliyah smile went away. "What happened?", Aaliyah asked.

"She was seeing somebody else...a guy", Carmen said.

"I'm sorry", Aaliyah said.

Carmen shook her head before looking down. "It's so hard to find somebody who actually fuck with you and you only nowadays", Carmen said.

"Maybe it's time for to stop looking so hard and just let that person come to you", Aaliyah said. "I didn't think that me and Dre would end of like this but we did"

"I can't believe you're married", Carmen said.

"Although we did already sign everything, I don't call it official until after the wedding, that of which we didn't get because of Kurt", Aaliyah said.

"I mean like if he was going to do this, he could've let y'all finish the wedding", Carmen said.

"True", Aaliyah said as she began to think.

"Unless he didn't want y'all to", Carmen said.

"I doubt that. He would have no reason for that", Aaliyah said. "Maybe they saw Jada outside and took the opportunity"

"...maybe but something doesn't seem right here", Carmen said. "Why would he ask two people that he has fucked with in years to do something so big when I'm pretty sure he has people who can do the job that has been by his side from day one"

Aaliyah didn't say anything.

"That's suspect to me", Carmen said. "Even Dre should know that"

Aaliyah walked back into the living room and Dre was on his phone.

"Dre, I think we need to find another way to get Jada back", Aaliyah said.

"No", Dre said.

"But Dre, something isn't right", Aaliyah said.

"Aaliyah we're going to do this", Dre said. "That's final"

"Dre he might try to set us up instead", Aaliyah said. "Kurt is a snake and you know that"

"...Aaliyah we're going to do this", Dre said before standing up.

"And if we die?", Aaliyah asked.

Dre didn't say anything at first he just walked to the steps.

"So, you're just going to ignore me?", Aaliyah asked.

"We ain't", Dre said before going upstairs.

"He must be thinking about it too", Carmen said.

"So, why does he want to do it?", Aaliyah asked.

"I don't know", Carmen said.
