It had been 4 months since we started arguing and it never ended. The hardest part was trying not to let the kids know.

"You act like you don't shit." Charli says.

I don't even know why were arguing. I didn't cheat, hurt her, yell, ignore her, or talk to my ex.

"Charli, how can I give a shit if I don't know why you're yelling at me?" I ask.

"You know you're the one who started it." She says.

"I started it? I must fucking love my wife yelling at me and telling my kids that everything is fine." I say.

"It's not easy lying to them either, so just tell me the truth." She says.

"What fucking truth? You have the password to my phone, bank accounts, safe, I let you search my phone, and I tell you everything you want to know. You have a key to my parents' house." I say.

"You have another phone." She says.

I sigh and she walks over to me. She digs in my pocket and pulls out the phone.

"That's my work phone." I say.

"What's the password?" She asks.

"There's nothing to hide." I say.

"Then give me the password." She says.

"Why should I?" I ask.

She throws the phone at the phone at the wall and the screen shatters.

"What the hell?" I ask picking the phone up.

"You're a cheater, liar, and an asshole." She says.

"Charli, that phone costs $1,000." I say.

"Ask Mia's mom for the money, you've been giving her money for the last 20 years." She says as I throw the phone away.

"She put me on child support." I say.

"Mia is 18, I'm not fucking stupid." She says.

"That's the type of shit you do that makes us argue." I say.

She slaps me and I walk away from her. I go upstairs and grab my backpack.

"If you want to hurt me, then I shouldn't be here." I say coming down the stairs.

She sighs and I take my ring off. I walk to the door and it opens.

"Mommy!" Lucas says.

I kneel down and hug him.

"Where are you going?" He asks.

"Me and your mom need some time apart." I say.

He nods his head and I kiss his forehead. I leave and Charli follows me.

"Y/n." Charli says.

"What now?" I ask.

"I'm sorry." She says.

"Is that for slapping me or for all of the accusing you do?" I ask.

"Everything." She says.

I nod my head and she hugs me.

"We gotta figure this out." I say.

"Yeah." She says.

"I love you." I say.

"I love you too." She says.

I kiss her and she smiles.

Little did you know, that was a flashback.

"Yeah." I say.

She hugs me and kisses my cheek.

"We're gonna get through this, one way or the other." She says.

I nod my head and she kisses me.

"I love you." I say.
