I settled in the motel room until Sunday. I didn't have the will nor energy to slug out of bed for anything, not even food, but I know I need to get back to reality, I'll be traveling the open road back home soon.

I start the drive, opening the window, enjoying the feel of the breeze wisping on my face, feeling like I'm leaving behind the cloud over my head.

Images of Axle's smile flash in front of me, coaxing tears to well up in my eyes. Followed by Selena's bright red lips, ... on his collar ... pressed on his lips ...

My throat tightens as a gut-wrenching sob bursts from the depths of my chest, tears streaming down my cheeks. I slam on the breaks, pulling over, unable to focus, heartbreak settles in as grief poured out.

A few hours later, I'm home, I walk into my apartment looking around, memories of Axle, here, engulf my head

A few hours later, I'm home, I walk into my apartment looking around, memories of Axle, here, engulf my head. My mind swirls with the impressions left in my mind, slamming my eyes shut, I will them out of my brain with a vigorous shake.

I drop my keys on the counter, head straight for the bedroom, turn on my phone, to hear ding after ding, Axle I'm sure but I'm not ready to hear his husky voice. I'll leave that for tomorrow, I shove it under the pillow to drown out the sound.

I close my eyes, snuggle tightly with my soft, white cushion as I plant my body on my bed, sealing my eyes shut. Tears squeeze out of my spent eyes, landing on my pillow, my lips trembling as I  welcome the slumber I so desperately need.

I drag myself out of bed the next morning, into the shower, I make sure it's hot to stimulate my nerve endings back to life. I'm all cried out and feeling refreshed ready to face Axle. I comb through my closet looking for an outfit to lift up my spirits.
