Third person's POV

The live singer's voice was a distant sound in Rebirth's resting room. The industrial air conditioners did their best to lower the temperature of the room but failed to cool down a fuming Markus Gordin. The scarlet hair girl has been sleeping away for almost three hours.

He drove like a mad man after receiving a call from his good pal, Tedious Galavar, telling him that Elizabeth Vivere had been drugged. Drugged right under the nose of Tedious Galavar. Markus had to double check the calendar to make sure it wasn't the first of April and that his friend was serious.

Markus Gordin kneeled on the ground beside Elizabeth, checking her pulse every now and then, to ensure that she was not in any danger. It had only been a few days since the governor sent men to ambush her at her house but danger still managed to struck her so soon.

Tedious Galavar walked in with a disappointed look - the two men who tried to take Elizabeth away had taken their own lives upon getting caught. They were no simple fools wanting their way with a defenceless girl.

He had completely let down his guard in Rebirth. No one had dared to stir trouble here for a long time but he had let it happened tonight.

Black Bear didn't bother to interrogate his pal about the whole incident. It was obvious that the carelessness Galavar had shown, caused this to happen to Elizabeth. He had a very good idea of who was behind this and his worry only deepened.

Elizabeth was just lucky these two times but she wasn't a lucky girl to begin with.

"She came in with Rafael, asking me about Sam this afternoon." Tedious Galavar revealed, wanting to do something to appease his friend's anger. However his revelation only seemed to do the opposite of what he had intended. Black Bear had slammed a fist against the metal locker, leaving a deep dent.

"What the fuck did you say?" Black Bear questioned, his volume thunderous in the room.

Tedious Galavar only shook his head. There were not many left who had witnessed, participated or simply knew about that incident that threatened the Mafia foundation ten years ago. However, both of them knew the ban by heart. How could they not? For they were involved, did things that wasn't anything to be proud of but necessary.

The governor always knows when someone had let it slipped, their deaths looked accidental but it served as a bloody warning for those who knew. Yet now, a nineteen year old girl is gambling her own life, trying to unravel the knots that should have remained unsolved.

Black Bear sighed, but it was not a sigh of relief. He had no idea how could Elizabeth have found out about a secret kept by the governor himself.

That child has a knack for poking her nose into other people's businesses and putting together loose ends. It was how she made money in the Mafia world and he respected that. However, she was playing with fire this time round.

He continued, "Have you heard about the recent murders in Mietitore's territory?"

Tedious nodded.

Out of curiosity, Marco Valentine had ordered Tedious to dig up information on the murdered couple. When Tedious came back with nothing, Marco Valentine began to suspect the couple's involvement in that incident.

They were playing golf with Brandon Mietitore when they had heard about Cody Castello being poisoned at The Dove's Rising, and the royal head had immediately called his son to stop him from investigating.
