"Dylan, this is an intervention... That sounded good, right?" Emma asked, looking at us with a dead-serious expression.

Emma, Jaz, Andrew, Will, Dean (yes, the one I was avoiding), Reece, and I were gathered in my living room. Today we were completing an important task.

The sofas were rearranged to be in a circle. Some extra chairs were added for seating. Above the tv hung a white banner that read 'intervention'. Yes, it was super creative. The coffee table was filled with chips and pitchers of lemonade. I had a stick from the backyard in my hand, with Ryder trying to chew on it.

"This is dumb, it isn't going to work. If I know Dylan-" Reece started, but I shot him a glare.

"Listen, I think I know Dylan pretty well. It'll work," I snapped.

He defensively put his hands up. "Look, all I'm saying is the man isn't going to listen if he's being cornered. Men have this pride that-" All the guys started nodding in agreement.

"Oh, cut the misogynistic shit," Emma harshly snapped. "We didn't invite you here for your opinion."

Jaz and I shared a shocked look. That was totally uncalled for. Emma was not in the right mind.

"Okay..." Reece trailed.

Jaz decided to change the topic. "Don't worry, the lemonade is spiked. If his pride is hurt, it's nothing a little alcohol can't fix."

My jaw dropped. "You spiked it?"

"Maybe..." She grinned, winking at me. I looked down at my cup and shuddered, putting it back on the table. It was not smart to get drunk on a school night. Emma grabbed it and chugged it down in one sitting, then went to pour another. "Emma, I just said it was spiked."

"I know," she huffed before downing the second cup.

Something told me we'd be having more than one intervention tonight.

The doorknob jiggled and Ryder noticed. He barked, making all of us jump. Then, the door swung open and Dylan sauntered in. "Bella, I'm here to- What's going on?"

Reece and Will jumped up and ran to the door, blocking it before Dylan could escape. He warily walked into the living room, eyeing the banner and all of us. When his eyes set on the food surrounding the table, he momentarily forgot his confusion and went straight for the chips.

"Dylan, have a seat please," I said as calmly as possible. He absentmindedly took a seat on one of the free couches. "This is an int-" Emma cleared her throat and gave me a look. "Oh, sorry. Emma, continue."

She perked up. "Dylan, this is an intervention," she said in the same tone as she practiced.

He stiffened up. Jaz offered him some lemonade and he took it before narrowing his eyes at all of us. "For what?"

We all looked at Reece, who we figured should start. After all, he was once co-captain too. "Well, we wanted to talk to you about how you're treating your teammates. Everyone's concerned that-"

"No, you don't know shit," Dylan snapped. Reece helplessly shrugged his shoulders at us before leaning back in his chair, defeated.

I suddenly became aware of the stick in my hand as Ryder chewed at it. I gently tugged it out of his mouth and held it up. "Alright, everyone. This is the speaking stick. You can only talk if you have this in your hand, deal?" Everyone mumbled their agreement, except for Dylan, who said it was childish.

"If you don't follow the rule, we have the right to smack you with it," Jaz said threateningly. Dylan reluctantly agreed, knowing her threat wasn't empty. She triumphantly grinned and passed the stick to Emma. Wherever the stick went, Ryder seemed to follow.
