(There can be dorms in this if you want, it does involve a school party though.)
You noticed your friend acting strange a few months after the party a few high schoolers threw. You went to that party, and you knew they did too as you dragged them along and went in the door with them. They weren't acting like themself, avoiding you and everyone else, being very distant and not talking to anyone, constantly on edge, and they just weren't being who they usually were at all. One day you noticed them walking home, alone, do you follow them? Or leave them be?
