"10 go right, ill go left. And, uh, you can just sit there." I said smirking towards her. We both fired and the zombies fell to the ground. She fired at the zombie in the middle but had to shoot twice.

Sketchy told us to give their driver mercy, he was being eaten by zombies and there was no way he'd survive. I aimed in his direction and waited for a headshot. Once I was clear I fired but it was much louder than before. I looked to my left and 10 had fired as well.

"Nice shootin'. Hey, we've got ourselves winners! They're from the same group, they'll figure it out."

"Nice job, kids. Now let's get your prize and get the hell out of here." Doc said. I got up and went to grab the gun for 10k, he can have it. He needs an upgrade and there's no way I'm giving up my dad's sniper. Sketchy announced dramatically we won, and handed the riffle. I gave it to 10k and we all ran to find the truck. I saw Warren and met up with her. There were at least five zombies coming for her. Her being the badass she is, killed them all. We were back at the truck.

"Where's 10k?" I asked to no one in particular.

"How much longer are we gonna wait for him?" Murphy asked.

"Not much," Warren spoke out. How could she leave him behind? I got out of the back and landed on the ground, taking steps to go look for him.

"Hey!" He yelled, grabbing our attention. Before I could warn him a zombie got him from behind. He spun around keeping the monster away from his face. Warren couldn't get a shot off and 10k was struggling. My blade dropped down to my hand and I grabbed the zombie off of him. It was faster than I anticipated. My blade fell out of my hand and onto the ground. I stumbled and tripped, knocking myself and the zombie to the ground. My arm extended up to keep the zombie at bay and my other hand fumbled with my pistol strapped to my leg. I fired the weapon and the zombie went limp on top of me. Out of breath I just laid there my hand stretched out to the side.

"Kid? You alive" Doc asked. Warren and 10k pulled the body off me and helped me up. We all got back into the truck and kept driving, I cleaned my face off with a rag we had in the truck.

"Well you smell great," Murphy said sarcastically.

"Oh yeah? I thought using your cologne would've been a nice change." I laughed back. "Yeah, dead zombies and dirt" I snickered leaning my head against the seat in front of me. Murphy rolled his eyes but I saw a ghost of a smile on his lips. We kept driving and ended up somewhere in Nebraska. The truck made noises and we pulled off the road.

"Well, that's that for the truck. Out of gas" Warren said. We all piled out and began walking until we found another vehicle to take us where we needed to go. That truck's been with us for a while. Ever since we picked up 10k and shortly thereafter myself. We came to this rundown town. I'm so tired and exhausted my body cramps all over. It's been days since I've drunk water. 10k is laying on the ground wringing his sweat out of his shirt and into his mouth. Cassandra is doing whatever over there. I don't care, I'm too tired to look. Warren is leaned against a car. Doc is in the corner peeing into a bottle to drink and Murphy is being an idiot somewhere over that way. There was rumbling and the ground shook.

"What is that?" I asked no one in particular.

"Is that an earthquake" 10 asked.

"More like a zombie-quake" Doc informed looking out into the distance. A cloud of dust was over the incoming z's but I just laid there. Murphy tried to get us all moving but none of us did. He dragged Warren and Doc grabbed Cassandra. I continued to lay on the ground while 10k gathered his stuff.

"Let's go Karma," He said to me. I shook my head.

"Nope. My body refuses. I'm going to die here." I said being dramatic. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up in one swift motion. "No fair," I whined before we both caught up to our group. We ran to a building dodging the z's close to us. There were two guys who called out to us, only one made it through. The little window on the door showed the zombies and freaked me out so I stepped away.

"So that's it? We're all just gonna lie down and die? Doc!" Murphy yelled waking Doc back up. I leaned against the wall trying to stay awake.

"Knock it off, Murphy," Warren said from her seat behind a desk.

"Three days without water, man. The human body hits the wall." Doc explained to the no longer human man. They struck up a conversation but my body gave out and I went tumbling towards the ground. 10k's hand grabbed my shoulder pulling my body to lean on him. My back felt the sticky shirt connect to my skin as it hit his leg. He slid down next to me and laid down.

"Zs don't like the cold," he spoke up joining their conversation. The guy talked about his past and then took a sip out of a flask. It got passed around starting with Doc. He took a quick sip then took some more. He said its made out of antifreeze and castor oil. The zombies banged the wall catching us all out of our conversation. Murphy opened up a back door to a morgue. No way! Absolutely not. We all moved back into the room and shut the door. I heard the door break and we shut the door. The newfound member of our group and I pushed ourselves against the door. Murphy took his place when he stood back with his gun aimed at the door which we were in front of. If he gets trigger happy, I'm suing. I left to go sit next to 10k and Cassandra.

"Do you hear that or is that just in my head?" 10k turned to me on his right. I nodded my head too tired to speak.

"I hope it's rats," Cassandra commented. 10k let out a very adorable noise. He turned his body so he could get up. I did the same not wanting to be on the ground when a zombie attacked. Been there, done that.

"Awww, damn. How's a guy supposed to relax with all that going on?" Doc said sitting up from his previous laying on the slab.

"I'll open it. You pike it." Doc said to me and 10. The new guy freaked out a little and told us to just leave it alone. But I can't be in here with that thing. Doc counted to three and both 10k and I got prepared. Nothing was there so we moved up one. Doc didn't count and opened the door. A zombie came swinging out and grabbed him. 10k ducked and my blade drove right into its head. Doc stopped screaming and we moved on with our lives. He shoved the zombie back into the chamber. Cassandra had an ear on her head that 10k pointed out and I laughed thinking back to the time she had a finger in her hair.

"Can't catch a break can you?" I asked, laughing, making the tension in the room settle.
