Well, It's been a year since we last seen the group. we moved ten times since we found that house. Luckily, we found a jeep big enough to haul a bunch of supplies. it had two rows of seats in the back and a big trunk space.

Right now, it was holding our food, water, blankets, some clothes, our weapons and ammo, extra gas, and some tools we picked up to keep this thing running. We were kinda attached to it.

"Hey baby, wanna stop here? It seems quiet." He asked. I looked out the window. My head stayed resting on my sniper. A sign said "Welcome to Richmond, Virginia

"No baby, I don't get a good feeling, it's too quiet." I said. He kept going through until we got to Indianapolis. We headed into the city to gather supplies before heading west into a smaller town to settle down for the time being. I got out the truck and walked beside him as he drove.

I walked towards a house and he pulled into the driveway. I was settled in the middle of the street but tucked away into the trees. As I walked up the rest of the driveway, Tommy parked the car and joined me. We opened the garage and nothing was inside, no car, no zombies.

"I'll move the car" I said. He tossed me the keys. I parked the car in the garage as he went to clear the first room of the house. He closed the door quietly. He came back out to help me close the garage door.

"Ready?" He asked.

"Ready" I said. We always cleared houses together. Everything we did was together. It's how we stayed alive.

Walking into the first room, which was the kitchen, I noticed just how fancy this house was.

"Karma, I know. Stay focused." He said noticing I was starring at the crystal, three-tiered chandelier above the black marble island, with a built in sink. Rose gold pots and pans hung from the ceiling.

"Oh you rich rich" I said looking around.

"Nikole" He said. I looked at him.

"Fine" I said bringing my dagger up again. He nodded and we moved further into the house. In the living room, there was a 75 inch tv hanging on the wall above the stone fireplace. A three piece sectional with a coffee table and a gaming system. A bar, a piano, a bookcase full of books. A full length window with a sliding door that has a view of the pool.

Moving into the next room, was an office. Nothing too fancy but fancy enough. After that was three bathrooms, two bedrooms. and then we found the dinning room. We kept walking and we came upon some stairs.

Immediately to the left was another bedroom and then a bathroom. We found all together 9 bedrooms, 8.5 baths, 3 offices, a game room, 10 zombies, and a partridge in a pear tree.

"Okay, we're all clear." He said. We moved the bodies into the backyard and burned them. We searched the house for supplies and kept what was good in the car, just incase we had to leave suddenly. We had the windows painted so you couldn't see inside them.

I walked into the backyard and looked around. There was a full garden with plants growing in it, some were dying but none that couldn't be saved. A huge swimming pool, surrounded by chairs and tables with umbrellas. A shed nestled in the corner of the lot way in the back. I took out my dagger and headed towards it.

I know I should probably grab 10k but it's just a little shed. I should be fine. What's the worst that could happed?

I undid the lock on the door and it creaked open. I could hear several groans from the stairs below. I took a step closer and reached for the light. It flicked with a low hum. It took a second for the light to actually turn on but it did.

"Nik, You do something?" His voice came from outside.

"Nah" I said.

"Really? Cause the light just cut on in the house and we have power." He came around the door. "What's this?" He asked.

"Not sure, but needs cleared." I said.

"Let's do it" He said. He headed down the stairs and we cleared the room. The ceiling was solar panels and the room was a generator for the house.

"They built this for the end of the world." I said.

"And died before they could see it" He said.

"Luckily we found it and hopefully live through it" I said.

"Oh we will karma." He said. He smiled at me. I quirked an eyebrow up at him. Somehow he made everything seem like it was gonna be okay.

"Let's get this cleaned up and see if we can't get some water running through this well thing" he said pointing at a homemade water pump.

While he fiddled with the water I grabbed a broom and began to clean the place up. With the fence and concrete house we could really make this into a fortress for us.

All we would have to do would be go on supply runs. We have enough room that if we somehow met up with the group again they could join us and relax.
