Sleep
------------
Sleep does not come easily,
Peacefully.
It is a battle from within,
That I have been losing every night.
Scarred to sleep,
Of what I'll see,
Of who I'll see.
My "special cocktail" doesn't seem to be working.
I don't want to see him,
And so I keep on trying.
People haven't noticed,
That means it isn't so bad.
Maybe if I keep going,
It will come back.
And I won't fall back.
I just need time,
Time to get up,
Time to think clearly.
Why is the sun out,
But in my head only darkness is there.
Bring the sun back,
Back in my head.
Please help me move from this crazy place.
Somewhere to smile,
Laugh,
To be present,
And to be alive.
Somewhere where home brings me peace.
Brings me be happiness,
And to feel safe.
I just want to sleep,
No dreams,
No pain,
Just sweet sleep,
And knowing that maybe tomorrow,
Beg that tomorrow,
The pain will go away.
Just sleep.
