27. Hidden in Plain Sight

Start from the beginning

"Sage." Her tone changed into a panicked one.

"You need to be strong at the moment." She said holding her voice so that it didn't tremble like her insides were.

He scoffed, "I can feel it Trisha and I am not afraid of dying. I don't want you to be affected."

She looked shocked at his words. He was not worried about himself.

"But I can't harm this poor girl who did nothing wrong." He looked helpless and pale.

And this was not a nice look on Sage and it was only matter of blood samples.

"Ryan will help. He can take blood samples from her and get it tested." Trisha was talking more to herself.

She needed to find her brother quick and get a cure. She helped Sage to get up and dragged him to a room in the hospital where Killian was lying. His face lacked colour and he looked almost dead had it not been for his rising of the chest.

Alice's daughter clung to her hand not leaving her side and looking terrified. Trisha felt pity for her as her mother was dying sooner or later. Or maybe she had a vial of cure with her somewhere.

She hasn't said a word since they brought her hair and it worried Trisha that she might be bottling up all her stress and fear. And that having such a terrifying childhood might live a lifelong scar emotionally.

Finding Ryan was not easy in this state. He was one of the few who was not affected and that means he lived in the higher part of the city with best medical facilities and area filled with plants and trees, sanitized to it's best.

And for that Trisha needed to get past the security who she already knew hated her. They all hated her because she was the cause of all this. She started this and she knew it was her fault.

But she knew who could her inside and that was Killian's father. He was dangerous and he might just do something to kill Trisha now that his son was on death bad. But she was also his last hope. He needed his help to get in contact with Ryan before both Sage and Killian were gone. And once she was done helping them she will disappear from their life because she has done enough damage.

With determination, she walked towards the doctor's zone and found Killian's father getting a shot maybe to lessen his pain or something as he refused to stop working and look for a cure for his son.

"Please stay here okay. I am going to get some help." She said to the little girl who looked scared.

Trisha didn't want a man like Killian's father to see that they had Alice's daughter with them.

"You are not sick?" She finally asked in a timid tone.

"No, I am not,"Trisha confirmed to console the child that she still had a healthy adult around her.

"I am also not sick." She said like it was supposed to mean something.

The idea was ticking in the back of her head but it took a moment to register, "We both drink the bitter juice."

She said and it hit, while she was being tattoed, Alice made her into the perfect criminal.

Not only the child had the cure, Trisha herself was not sick because the cure was in her blood as well.

"Trisha?" Killian's father walked out of the room shocking an already shocked Trisha.

But it was too late as his eyes narrowed on the little girl.

"Catch her." He said to the guards outside the doctors' room.

Trisha picked up the girl in her arms and ran knowing very well that at the moment they both were a target.
