Watching Eli clutching his bloody side sent me in a state of shock, for a moment.

However, my survival instincts kicked in when his pleading eyes met mine.

I immediately rushed to his side, and with the help of one of the restaurant staff, I got him outside and in the car. The staff members kept insisting we stay put, because they had called an ambulance. I told them I would take him to a hospital myself, because it would be quicker that way; but Eli and I both knew that weren't true.

I had known these guys long enough to know that they didn't do public hospitals.

Whatever he had been stabbed with, had penetrated him deeply. I wasn't a doctor, but it wasn't hard to tell based on the rate of the blood flow.

His once clean cut suit, was stained with blood. It appeared as though someone had sourced a white cloth to wrap his wound with, though the cloth was no longer white.

As Eli sat in the passenger seat grunting, I tried my best to keep calm, for both our sakes. Though it was clear that he was more in control of the situation than I was.

"Hey, I'm fine," he insisted, "Mia. Look at me. It's okay", his breaths came out short, almost in pants, indicating that he clearly wasn't fine.

"Please don't cry", he breathed softly.

I quickly wiped at my damp cheeks, with the back of my hand, only realising I was even crying, when he mentioned it.

We got back to the house in a matter of minutes, thanks to my reckless, yet very necessary driving.

I got out and took Eli under my arm, and began screaming for help, in hopes that one of the guys would come outside.

Don't get me wrong, for a small girl I could handle the weight, on any other ordinary day; but the graveness of the situation was weighing down on me more than Eli's actual weight had.

"Why the hell are you... oh shit", Alex uttered as he had been the first to come out. He immediately held Eli from the other side as we hauled him inside.

Katherine, Xavier and Jacob were in the living room where we lay Eli down. Funnily enough it was the same sofa that Alex lay on not too long ago. Except it was no longer a stained couch because Xavier had ordered a new one. I hoped he was ready to buy another.

"Mia, are you okay?" Xavier immediately asked as we entered.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, it's Eli, h-he" I stuttered as I found myself lost of words, I didn't even know what had happened.

"Oh crap. The doc left like 10 minutes ago, I'll call him right now, he can't have gone too far", I heard Aiden respond, or maybe it was Jacob. I wasn't focusing on anyone else at this point but Eli.

I was crouched down next to Eli, still holding his hand. The despairing chill that his eyes conveyed broke my heart.

"Mia"

What was filled with joy not that long ago now showed suffering.

"Mia sweety"

He was attempting to put on a brave face, but the pain he was feeling was finding its way through the cracks of his forced smile.

"MIA GODDAMIT!"

I turned my head to see Katherine and Xavier staring down at me.

"What the hell happened!?"

"I don't... I don't know. It was all fine one minute, and then I went to the bathroom for just a moment, but when I got back..."

I felt Eli squeeze my hand, redirecting my attention back to him.
