What?!!! My son? I have a son other than Kenneth? What the eeefff!!!

"Miss Arevalo, kung tinakbuhan kayo ng nakabuntis sa inyo, please naman wag kang mandamay ng ibang tao." Mahinahon kong sabi baka sakaling sabihin niyang joke lang yun.

"Daddy?" Nakatingalang sabi ng batang lalaki na ang pangalan daw ay Kevin. "Are you really my Daddy?"

Tantiya ko nasa tatlo o apat na taong gulang ito pero mukhang intelihente at very articulate. Ang linaw kasi nang pagbigkas niya ng mga salita.

Which reminds me of my children when they were at Kevin's age.

Kyra and Kenneth were very eloquent at age four.

I squatted to level my line of sight to his. "I'm sorry kid but no, I am not your daddy."

"You are his father, Aga." Giit ni Carmen Arevalo. 

Tumingin ako ng masama kay Carmen. Damn it. This woman knows a lot about me. Bakit ba kasi hindi pa bumabalik ang ibang memorya ko.

I felt like I know her before.

"I refuse to believe that." Tanggi ko. Ang hirap naman paniwalaan na bigla na lang siyang darating at sasabihin may anak ako sa kanya. Ang galing din ng timing niya na kung kailan bumalik na ang memories ko sa aking pamilya ay saka naman siya susulpot sa buhay ko. Dapat noong buhay pa si Shane.

Kevin cling to my leg without warning and I felt something tugged my heart.

No, he is not my son.

I keep repeating these words in my head as I untangle the toddler from my leg.

"Look, Miss Arevalo. Hindi ko alam kung anong laro ito pero hindi ako makikipagparticipate tulad ng inaasahan mo." I said and forcefully untangle the boy from my leg.

Naaawa ako sa bata pero I won't let this woman use him for her wickedness.

Mabilis akong lumabas ng opisina at tinungo ang nakaparadang sasakyan sa labas. Hindi ko alam na sinundan pala ako ni Kevin at umiiyak na tinatawag akong daddy.

Shit!  Shit! shit!

Napahampas ako sa steering wheel bago pinaandar ang makina ng sasakyan. Pero bago ako tuluyang makalayo, nakita kong lumabas si Carmen at matalim na nakatingin sa direksyon ko.

I know I should not be running away from this but I am torn, confuse and I don't know what else to do aside from staying and talk to Carmen about things.

And why only now?

"Look who is here!" Nanunuyang sabi ni Dervy pagkakita sa akin sa loob ng bar.

Maaga pa pero bukas na ang naturang establishment. Months of experience taught me that this place is a haven of rich and spoiled kids of politicians and business tycoons.

"Naligaw ka yata, Cody." Sarkastikong sabi din ni Joshua.

"I came to talk to you." Seryosong sabi ko kay Dervy.

"After what you did the last time? Ang lakas naman ng loob mong bumalik dito at mag-expect na kakausapin kita? Alam mo bang pwede kang hindi makalabas dito ng buhay?" Nanlilisik ang mga matang sabi ni Dervy.

Alam ko naman yun pero I have been acquainted with them for three years and I can say that at some point, naging kaibigan ko siya.

Dervy is a dangerous young man and he considers Shane as a bestfriend and a sister. Ang tangi na lang sigurong dahilan kung bakit hindi pa niya ako binugbog ay dahil alam niyang hindi yun maguhustuhan ni Shania.

Even in death, he still held Shane in high regards.

"You can't blame me for what I did. Sinaktan mo ang asawa ko. Your supposedly little scare could have gone worse and could take her life. But thankfully,  she only got scratches. If the same thing happened to you, you would have done the same. Or baka nga mas malala pa. I came here to ask something. Hindi man tayo naging close in the entire time na naging kami ni Shania but I know we respected each other in a rather unusual way."

"Wow, Cody. What a speech." Komento ni Reina. Katropa din nila.

I am older ng mga anim o pitong taon sa kanila. Most of them are in their mid-twenties. Walang magawa sa buhay dahil sustentado lahat ng mga magulang ang luho at anumang activities nila.

I felt envious. Ang saya sigurong buhay yun. But thinking about what I have, I felt complete.

And looking at them in a different way, they are pitiful. And being the older one, I should be their guiding light.

Parang role model lang.

"Follow me." Sabi ni Dervy and the others make way. He leads me into his private room. More like an office.

Once the door was closed, he face me with a very serious expression.

"I will get straight to the point. What do you know about me?"

Dervy frowned.

"Alright. Alam kong ikaw ang tumulong kay Shania para isakatuparan ang mga plano niya. I bet she had told you about me even before I am introduced to you as Cody Aquino."

"Yes. I never saw her as happy as she was when she talked about you. She said she had finally found the one. She never told me your complete real name. Just Aga." Panimula niya.

Unang salita pa lang niya parang gusto na ulit siyang suntukin.

He knows!

"I'm sure you know by now that I love Shania. Our relationship is kinda complicated. I felt very protective of her and I know that if she ask me anything, I will give it to her. And she said she wanted you."

My mind is screaming for blood.

Walang hiya kayo!

"Did you stalked me?"

Tumango siya saka umupo. "When you were supervising one of your projects in Cebu, I was also there. Stalking you."

My heart raced, "Did I had anyone with me back then? I mean, did you see me with anyone?"

"Yes, I thought then she was just a girlfriend but I did not know she is your wife. The first time your wife came here looking for you, I thought I had seen her before. Ngayon ko lang narealize na siya pala ang babaeng kasama mo sa Cebu."

Naguluhan ako sa kwento niya. As far as I remember, hindi ko dinala sa Cebu si Lea. Never pa kaming nagkasama doon dahil lagi siyang busy sa ospital.

Could he be referring to...Carmen?
