Chapter 29 - 'Pure' Love

Xyder Zephyr - POV;

"So what exactly makes this a super, ultra, spectacular, ultimate inn?" I asked as I dropped my bags and plopped down onto the generic bed in my inn room.

"Wait for it. Dun dun dun dun dun! They have open air hot springs!" Evie exclaimed excitedly.

"Hot springs? I mean we have arrificial ones back home so is a natural one really all that appealing?" I inquired.

"Of course! It's great for your skin! Besides that's not the best part," she paused.

"Well? Tell me," I prodded.

"Heh, heh, heh," she laughed mischievously, "They have mixed bathing!"

"Yeah, sorry. I'm not into the whole Eastern slash Japanese culture thing. You can go ahead. Why is that even in the west anyway?" I told her.

"What? Come on! We'll go together and that way you won't be labelled as a pervert trying to peek at all of the girls' assets!" Evie tried convincing me.

"Wow. I love that you immediately think that I don't wanna go because I want to peep on girls but I don't want anyone know that. Great to know that's who you think I am," I scoffed as I planted my face into the mattress.

"Come on!" Evie pleaded as she tried in vain to drag me off the bed by my arm.

"Fine," she conceded, "At least go bathe and don't stink up the room. The baths are reserved for males only from now till the next hour. Atleast go within then."

"All right, fine. Don't know what's wrong with skipping a bath now and then though," I complained.

After undressing, I eased myself into the warm clear waters with a towel wrapped around my waist. As I allowed my body to soak in the mineral rich waters, I looked up at the starry skies and begun contemplating on everything up till this moment. For the longest time in my life I had only one mission and that was to reclaim my place as heir. Now that I had arrived at this point it felt almost unreal. I couldn't even believe that this was happening. I wondered what lay in the future for me. Could things be finally become brighter in my life? After six years of struggling, were things finally just going to go up for me from this moment on?

I was brought back to reality when two soft masses were squeezed against my back and two slender arms reached around my upper torso, across my chest.

"Evelynn............" I said with the sternest voice I could muster.

"Hehe. Sorry. I might have kind of lied about the reserved thing. The bath's open to everyone all the time," she admitted in a goofy, childish tone.

"A- anyway. Could you please stop pressing up against me?"

"Hmm? Oh...... could my cute little brother be feeling bothered by his own big sister? You naughty, naughty boy," she said cheekily.

"It's not that," I sighed, "It's just a bit wierd having you be all clingy like this."

"Don't worry about it. No one's gonna see. The truth is that we're the only ones staying here. Not many people live in this town and even fewer visit to stay. Besides, I have on this non-revealing swimsuit!" she shouted as she jumped infront of me and ripped her towel off.

"Wait, you have on a swimsuit?!" I questioned shocked.
