Hope

Wish I may, wish I might. That if I die, it's not tonight.

I'm staring at the stars so bright, but i still dont want to die tonight. Please not tonight, if that would be allright.

Wish I might, wish I may, looks like a made it to another day.

Aren't I lucky? You bet your boots, I may look like a tree but I don't have any roots.

Will I be remembered? What will they say? I hope they shed a tear at my graveside, and then walk away. I hope they'll recall with smiles the times we had, the talking, the miles.

Please, I need more time, I haven't even been to Venice, not one time. Please, even though I'm ready to go, can I please stick around, to see just one more winter snow?

It's allright, I'm coming Lord. I'm sure that in heaven I'm not going to be bored. Allright take my soul, for you I release. I suppose it has been long enough, I find I'm at peace.
