Wow, an actual fact, not an update!!
Basil has a set of vows he made. These vows include big things like not killing or stealing, but also never indulging in pleasurable things like sex, smoking, and drinking.
Funny thing is, that after he made them his friends teased him relentlessly with the vows. Whenever he says "I'm going to kill you." They immediately say, "what about your vows?"
It's a dumb joke, it's not really even funny, but it annoys the living crap out of Basil that his friends don't take his vows very seriously.
The only one who takes them seriously and actually has more respect for him because of them is Florence. Which is surprising, as she breaks each of the vows on a regular basis.
