Before I get into this chapter, I know what songs Alice and Linda will perform. As much as I love ABBA, we're just going to pretend they don't exist in this story's universe. I decided that ABBA songs will be Alice and Linda songs. Of coarse, the songs still belong to their rightful owners. I still need a group name for Alice and Linda, so please suggest if you have one~Emma

Alice's P.O.V

February 5, 1974

I woke up in the morning with a tune going through my head. I jolted awake and shot out of bed, quickly making to the basement where the keyboard was kept. I sat down and started playing the tune. As I played the tune, some words came to mind.

I was sitting by the phone
I was waiting all alone
Baby by myself I sit and wait and wonder about you
It's a dark and dreary night
Seems like nothing's going right
Won't you tell me honey how can I go on here without you?

I grabbed the journal I kept beside the keyboard in case a song ever came to mind. I quickly wrote down the words and went back to playing.

Paul's P.O.V

When I woke up, I found Alice missing from the bed. I could hear the faint sound of the keyboard coming from the basement. That must be where she is. I decided to go and see what she was up to.

~

When I made it to the basement, I stood at the top of the stairs and watched as she played and sang.

Ring, ring why don't you give me a call?
Ring, ring the happiest sound of them all
Ring, ring I stare at the phone on the wall
And I sit alone impatiently
Won't you please understand the need in me
So, ring, ring why don't you give me a call?
So, ring, ring why don't you give me a call?

That's when she stopped a wrote in the journal she kept. She put her pencil down and was just about to play again until I decided to speak.

"That's sounds wonderful, darling"

"How long have you been standing there?" Alice asked, turning around so she was facing me. I started walking over to her.

"Not very long. How long have you been working on the song?" I asked

"Since I woke up. I had the tune in my head and I wanted to play it before it left" Alice said. She turned to face the keyboard again. I wrapped my arms around her and rested my chin on her head. She put her hands on top of mine.

"I like it so far. Does it have a name yet?" I asked

"Going off of what I wrote in the chorus, I was thinking Ring Ring" Alice said

"Sounds like the name of your first single" I said

"Thanks. When I'm finished, I'm going to call Linda and play it for her. She needs to have her say in this" Alice said

"I'm sure she'll like it. Do you know how long you'll be down here?" I asked

"I don't know" Alice said

"I'll make breakfast and bring some down for you" I said

"Thanks Paulie. I appreciate that" Alice said. She turned her head and gave me a kiss. I then left her in peace to go and make some breakfast.

Alice's P.O.V

I've probably spent a little over an hour now downstairs. Once I had finished writing Ring Ring, I picked up the telephone and brought it over to the keyboard. I called Linda and played it for her. She liked it. Next thing I knew, she helped me write and compose three more songs over the phone.

"Lin, you and I are on fire!" I spoke into the receiver.

"We are! It looks like I'm going to have to make a trip down to London soon" Linda said

"Yeah. Do you think I could get a whole album written in three days?" I asked

"Alice, I know you're excited about this, I am too, but you shouldn't overwork yourself" Linda said

"I suppose you're right, besides, you should be here to help me write the album" I said

"I'll talk to Joseph and see if we can fly over in three days. Do you think you can hold over until then?" Linda asked

"I should be able to" I said

"Good. See you in three days" Linda said

"You too" I said. I then hung up the phone. I put the phone back to where it originally was, then I grabbed my lyric journal and went upstairs.

When I got upstairs, I found Paul and the girls cuddling each other, watching television. Mary and Stella were on either side of him, snuggling into his sides. Ethel was laying down and using his legs as a pillow. I smiled at the sight and crept my way into the kitchen. I sat down on the table and flipped my lyric book open to the second song Linda and I wrote.

"What are you reading, love?" I looked up to see Paul walking over to me.

"How did you know I even came up?" I asked

"I could see you out of the corner of my eye" he said, sitting beside me.

"Linda and I managed to write three more songs over the phone. Would you like to give them a read?" I asked.

"I'd love to" Paul said. I smiled and gave the lyric book to him. As he read them, he smiled.

"These really are great. I can't wait to hear them with music" Paul said. He gave the book back to me and I looked down at the songs.

"Linda plans to come in three days. We're going to try to get more songs written" I said

"While she's here, you should record Ring Ring down at Abbey Road. I'm sure George Martin would be willing to lend you a hand" Paul said

"Yeah! I'll discuss it with Linda when she gets here" I said. Paul smiled and pressed a kiss to my lips. He then placed his hands on top of mine.

"I'm so incredibly proud of you, love. You and Linda will be great together"
