Paneer Manchurian recipe is a popular indo-chinese dish in Mumbai.

INGREDIENTS (used American measuring cup, 1 cup 250 ml)

For frying paneer :
▶Paneer/Cottage cheese - 250 gms
▶Corn starch or Corn flour - 2.5 tbls
▶Sichuan pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
▶Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
▶Soya sauce - 1 tsp
▶Sugar - 1/2 tsp
▶Vinegar - 1/4 tsp
▶Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
▶Salt as required
▶1.5 to 2 tbls oil for shallow frying

For the Manchurian sauce
▶Garlic cloves chopped finely - 1 tbls
▶Ginger chopped finely - 1 tbls
▶Celery leaves chopped - 1 tsp (optional)
▶Whites of spring onion chopped into finely or into squares or onion - 1/2 cup
▶Mushroom chopped coarsely - 1/2 cup (optional)
▶Cabbage chopped finely - 1/4 cup
▶Carrot grated or chopped finely - 1/4 cup
▶Capsicum chopped finely or bell pepper - 1/4 cup
▶Green chillies chopped diagonally or finely - 1
▶Chopped green of spring onion - 2 tbls
▶Tomato ketchup or sauce - 1.5-2 tbls
▶Soya sauce - 1/2 tbls
▶Sugar - 1/2 tsp
▶Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
▶Black pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
▶Sichuan pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
▶Vinegar or Rice vinegar - 1/2 tsp
▶Salt as required.

For the Corn flour paste :
▶Corn starch - 1 tbls
▶Water - 1/4 cup




How to make the recipe?

1. Take paneer cubes into a mixing bowl.

2. Sprinkle Corn flour, red chilli powder, pepper, Sichuan pepper and salt. also add Soya sauce, vinegar, 1 tsp oil and sugar.

3. Mix all nicely or just shuffle the bowl with a lid on top until all is coated well on paneer.

4. Heat Oil in a shallow pan and spread a few coated paneer and shallow fry them until golden brown from both sides. This way shallow fry in small batches and place aside.

5. In the same pan which you shallow fried paneer add Celery leaves, garlic and ginger. Saute for 20 seconds.

6. Now add whites off spring onion and Saute on high heat. Keep stirring in between.

7. Also add all the chopped veggies like carrots, Capsicum, cabbage, mushrooms and green chillies.

8. Stir And toss the veggies for 2-3 mins son high heat.

9. Add the Tomato ketchup and stir again.

10. Now add the cornmeal water mixture. Also add Soya sauce, vinegar, red chilli powder, Sugar and salt.

11. Sprinkle Sichuan pepper and pepper powder. Simmer until gravy thickness.

12. Lastly add the fried paneer and cook for a minute. Switch off the gas and garnish with greens of spring onion. Serve your paneer Manchurian with fried rice or Hakka Noodles. 😋
