Minnie POV

I was picking strawberries in the field when a commotion rose up inside the camp.

"What the Hades...." I wove my way through the short berry bushes, dropping my basket by the others that had been left by my siblings.

As it turned out, the Hunt had arrived and one of the girls had taken exception to the way one of the sons of Apollo looked at her.

Staying away from Thalia, who didn't like me, I scanned the group of girls.

A new Hunter caught my eye, mostly because another was leaning towards her and whispering in her ear.

"Alright, Marcie, I think David gets the message." Chiron spoke calmly. Marcie, a daughter of Ares, turned to scowl at him, but Thalia's sharp head shake stopped her.

"So Artemis sent us here for a few days cause she needs to blow off some steam and doesn't want to hurt us." Thalia smiled, but it was slightly strained. She definitely wanted to be with her mistress right now, anyone could tell. "We'll be heading to the cabin and setting up." She turned to the girls and nodded.

The Hunter who had been listening to her companion speak stepped forward and tugged on Thalia's jacket. She couldn't have been older than 11, and her eyes were wide as she looked around.

The daughter of Zeus barely even glanced at her. "Oh, yeah. Chiron, Alyssa wants to meet the misfits."

The old centaur raised an eyebrow. "Well you'd be better to introduce her than me, you know all of them. Beck isn't here either way, but the others should be around camp."

Thalia nodded and turned, leading the young girl towards the cabins. I followed, curious as to why she wanted to meet them.

The Misfits was really just a joking name. They were a group of demigod children who were kind of the oxymorons of camp society.

Beck Gibbson was the daughter of Poseidon who was afraid of water and couldn't swim. She was really nice, but got angry easily if her dad or half-brother Percy tried to push her to do something near or in the lake, like boating.

Thalia wouldn't admit it, but we knew she was part of the group too. Jason flew all the time and though we knew Thalia was capable, she refused to do any of it.

After that was Dorian Green, an unfortunate name because he was a son of Iris. What was more unfortunate was that he was completely color blind.

"Green!" Thalia banged her fist on the door to the Iris cabin.

"Coming!" He shouted from inside.

The door flew open to reveal a teenage boy. He was wearing normal blue jeans, not that he knew what color they were, and a white t-shirt that said 'I'm Colorblind and this sucks.' in rainbow letters across the front.

"What's up?" He grinned lopsidedly.

"This is Alyssa." Thalia discreetly pushed the tiny girl forward a bit and she waved shyly at Dorian.

"Hey, Lyss. You a special case?"

She nodded. Dorian leaned down in front of her and smiled. "Welcome to the Misfits, kid. Who's your parent?"

The girl shrugged and the son of Iris looked up to Thalia questioningly.

"Daughter of Apollo. He brought her to Artemis specifically, said she was having trouble."

"Why's that?"

The daughter of Zeus tapped her throat. "Mute. Kind of hard for her to use her father's gift, you know?"

Dorian nodded in understanding. "You taking her on the rounds?"

"That I am. Speaking of, there's Jamie. C'mon Alyssa, let's keep going. I want to get away from all the males."

Dorian laughed. "Whatever, Thalia." He stood and saluted them goofily, then went back inside as Thalia led Alyssa over to a boy standing under the awning of the Athena cabin, inspecting several small trees.

"Jamie!"

"Hold on." He pushed his curly blond hair out of his face and crouched down in front of the tree at his feet. I rolled my eyes. Jamie Polk was a strange kid, obsessed with growing olive trees. I zoned out a little while Thalia introduced Alyssa to him, and Jamie seemed to have zoned out too, muttering vague responses as he inspected his precious tree.

"Alright, we should keep moving." Thalia finally muttered, leading Alyssa away.

I knew there was only one person left.

The Ares cabin scared Alyssa, which wasn't surprising. Thalia marched right up to it without hesitation and pounded on the door. "SONNY!"

"Yes?" An African American girl asked, walking over from the bathrooms.

Thalia turned to her. "Found you last, the others have already met her, sorry. This is Alyssa. She thinks she wants to join the Misfits."

Allison Wonderland AKA Sonny, the most passive daughter of Ares I'd ever met, smiled down at Alyssa. "Hey there, sweet-pea. How's it going?"

Alyssa shrugged and Sonny chuckled. "Well let me tell you something, honey. You are going to have a lot of fun with us. Quirks are the best part of being a demigod, I promise."

I smiled. Sonny could calm anyone down and it helped a lot with her siblings.

Alyssa was smiling too. I could tell she was going to like it here.
