Frazel-The Best Costume

Frank POV

"Haz?" I knocked on the door of her cabin.

"Just a second!" My girlfriend's happy voice piped from inside. I heard a thump and a yelp. Moments later, Nico opened the door. "She's still in there. I'm gonna find Jason." He wasn't in costume. Jason and Percy would fix that as soon as they saw him.

I glanced at the bustling camp before heading inside. All of the Roman demigods were invited to a big Greek demigod Halloween party.

"Hazel?" I asked, squinting in the gloom.

"Over here, silly!" She giggled.

Gods I love her laugh.

I turned to where her voice was coming from and realized she wasn't dressed.

NO NOT LIKE THAT! THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!

Hazel smiled at me. She was in shorts and a tank top. I blushed slightly.

"Aren't you going to wear a costume?" We asked at the same time. Hazel laughed again.

"I wanted to surprise everyone so I had to wait until Nico left."

"Oh. What is it?"

Now Hazel blushed slightly. "Well, when Nico was explaining what people dress as for Halloween nowadays he mentioned that a lot of kids and some teen girls dress as princesses."

I nodded. "The Disneys. Yeah."

"So I looked up some princesses and decided to dress as Tiana." Hazel explained.

I grinned. "Cool."

"Thanks! So what are you going as?" She looked me up and down, trying to figure it out.

I laughed. "I don't have it on yet, Hazel. Go get yours on and I'll get mine on, okay?"

Hazel blushed, realizing that she'd been checking me out, but nodded and grabbed a black dress bag, taking it with her into the small alcove they had in the Hades cabin for privacy.

I quickly got my costume ready and sat on the floor, waiting for her.

"Ready?" Hazel called.

"Yep!" I responded.

Hazel walked out of the alcove in a green dress that looked exactly like Tiana's, green leaves and a flower at the waist an all. She looked radiant, with her curly hair pulled into a decorative bun-thing on the top of her head.

She caught sight of me and burst out laughing.

"Frank!" I grinned up at her.

"Ribbit!" I was a frog. No it wasn't a costume. I'd found out that my shapeshifting abilities allowed me to change the size of the animal I was turning into. If I were to stand up on my wierd, bent in legs I would be about 6 foot 3.

Hazel came up to me and pulled me to my feet, then kissed my cheek. I had also figured out that I could keep certain parts of me human when I shifted, so right now a giant frog with a Frank face stood in the middle of the Hades cabin.

"That's a great idea, Frank! You'd never have to buy a costume! It does look a little strange with your head though." Hazel frowned.

"Well I need to be able to talk and stuff." I pointed out with a grin. I had left my hands and feet human too so I could walk and hold things.

Hazel's frown deepened for a moment and I realized she was concentrating on something.

A mask suddenly appeared in her hand. A frog mask.

"Here." She handed it to me with a smile. A Mist trick.

"Wow, you're getting good." I said as I put the mask on.

"Thanks. Are you going to be able to walk around like that?" Hazel motioned to my weird frog legs.

"Yeah, I practiced."

"Okay! Let's go find the others." She grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the cabin.

"And the best couple costume award goes to...FRANK AND HAZEL!" Piper announced from the stage.

Jason scooped me and Hazel up, living up to his costume as he flew us across the room.

"PUT ME DOWN SUPERMAN!" Hazel screeched, her face beet red.

"I didn't even know you could carry both of us at the same time." I said.

"It's....a struggle." Jason grunted through clenched teeth. His cape flapped out behind him. He dropped us down in front of Piper, who was dressed as Peggy Carter from the first Captain America movie.

"Thanks Superman. Now, Tiana, FrogBoy, you know what the tradition is at Camp Half Blood?" Piper asked with a devious smirk. Hazel glanced at me nervously.

"For the couple costume, the winners have to give the other..." She trailed off for dramatic effect.

"JUST SPILL, PIPES!" Percy shouted. He was dressed as, big surprise, Nemo. He'd spent the first 10 minutes of the party chasing Annabeth around. The daughter of Athena, dressed as Eowyn from Lord of the Rings, kept exclaiming that she didn't know him and refused to let him kiss her at all.

"Shut up, Fish Brain!" Piper and Annabeth called laughingly at the same time.

"The winners of the couple costume get to have a kiss onstage!" Piper shouted.

Uh oh. I went red. Hazel was blushing furiously as well.

"Wait, I've got an idea!" Percy raced up and leapt deftly onto the stage. He whispered in mine and Hazel's ears. I looked at the daughter of Pluto.

"You okay with that?" She seemed to think for a moment, then nodded.

Percy jumped off the stage as I went full frog, shrinking down to about the size of a Nerf football.

Hazel picked me up carefully and looked me in the eye. I croaked at her and everybody laughed.

"JUST KISS THE FROG, LEVESQUE!" Surprisingly, Nico shouted that.

She smiled at me and planted a kiss on my lips.

"Ew!"s and "Awe!"s rang through the crowd. I quickly shifted into my full human self.

"Thanks, beautiful."
