Callan POV

Warehouses smell nasty.

I know, I know, it's something most people know.

I just didn't know it was this bad until I was actually in a warehouse.

Gliding silently between the boxes, I checked the labels.

Where's the stupid box?

I was sure that they were here.

They had to be. If they were here and I couldn't find them the whole country would be in shambles within days.

"Come on, come on!" I muttered, pushing the red locks of hair that were flopping in my hair out of my face.

"No. No. No. No! What the heck, they aren't here!" I growled.

"Of course they aren't. Of course they aren't!" I snarled finally in frustration. "When I get my hands on that stupid boy he's going to wish he was never born!"

I fished in my pocket for my phone and dialed a number.

"What's the situation, Davis?" Jackson asked when he picked up.

"Shoot that stupid kid in the thigh and put him in a holding cell until I get back."

"They weren't there were they?" Jackson sighed.

"Nope. No sign of them at all. I had plans today, and now I'm in this stupid warehouse freezing to death and trying to find firearms that aren't even here!"

"Alright, alright, calm down."

I took a deep breath. "Okay, I'm calm. I'm heading back. See you soon."

"Later, Davis." The line clicked as he hung up.

"Thanks for nothing, Jackson Jones." I grumbled, pushing my phone into my pocket again.

I turned, trying to find my way back through the labyrinth of boxes.

"Ah, where's the stupid way out?"

I checked the labels again, looking for the ones that had been nearest to the door.

"Ugh, how stupid am I-" As I started the spell that would lead me out, something hard collided with my head and I dropped to the ground, feeling blackness coming over me.

-----------------------------

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I struggled against the ropes tying me down.

"Who's there? Where am I?" I called, flicking my hair out of my eyes.

I was greeted with silence.

"Fine. If you want to play the silent game, I'll just be going." I muttered, letting magic surge from my fingers to start slicing the ropes on my hands.

"Won't work, dearie."

I froze at that voice.

That familiar voice.

"Let me go."

"No thanks, doll."

"Well at least let me see you." I could tell the voice was behind me. I tried to turn my head hard far enough to see the speaker, but I couldn't get my head far enough.

"That takes the fun out of it though." The girl responded sweetly. "At least try to guess."

"Leanne Denian Walsh, I know it's you, come out where I can see you."

"Aw, you're no fun. Guess I shoulda known that." The tone of voice changed from mysterious to a pouting child.

"Just get out here and get these cursed robes off me." I growled.

"Can't do the second part, love. You know that." She stepped into my view.

"Still with the hair?" I asked.

"You got a problem with it?" Leanne curled a strand of her bangs around her finger. Her waist length hair was blonde with a blue streak running down the left side, it's red twin right next to it.

"Whatever. It's your choice."

"Yes it is. Now, I assume you know why you're here?"

"Cause you're crazy and two faced?"

Leanne laughed. "That's just one opinion."

"No, actually, it's several people's opinions. I'm just the one who has to voice them."

"Lovely." Leanne smirked. I slowly began to work my fingers through the ropes, trying to loosen them.

"Well, you're here, might as well get done what I need to get done." Leanne left my sight and I heard her clanking something rather heavy behind me.

I felt my heart start to pound again.

"Front or back?" Leanne asked sweetly.

"Uh...for what?"

"Where you want the bullet, of course!" I felt a cold gun barrel press against the back of my neck.

"Um, front...."

Leanne rounded me and cocked the pistol in her hand.

"Before you shoot me, you mind telling me what your plan is?" I asked. My hands were almost free, if I could just get her to talk a little longer.

Leanne laughed. "You think I'm that stupid?"

Before I could do anything else, she brought the gun up and pulled the trigger.
