The snow fell from the frosty ceiling as we waltzed. The trees were topped with white and icicles dangled from the edges of tables and windows. The star studded skies glittered as a slight gust of wind swept throughout the room; playing with my hair and ruffling my dress.

Talking of dresses, I don't wear them. Seriously, I'm such a tomboy. Cho always says "Shane, you're flirty and out going and a dress would make every guy want you. But you're so damn stubborn!" But tonight was different so I let my best friend, Cho Chang, take me shopping.
Truthfully, I hated it. The process of going to so many different shops was just painful. And all the other girls around us going 'ooo' and 'ahh' at every stupid dress they picked up. I mean, come on ladies! A dress isn't everything.
When I told Cho about my thoughts, she glared at me and then said,
"You won't want to try this then?"
You can guess my reaction - "Ahh! It's beautiful!"
I tried on this dress and had to buy it. It just fit me perfectly. And my curves were accentuated and it made my legs look so long. Usually my skinnies did the trick but this made me me different. Classy, elegant, chic.
From then on, I didn't complain. Well, only a little. That persuaded Cho to buy everything for me because as soon as my outfit was purchased, I shut up. I love my friend.

I gazed over his shoulder as we twirled. Cho spiralled past me in the arms of her date and mouthed,
"Save a dance for me!" I giggled and nodded as we whirled in the opposite direction.
I looked into his blue eyes as he motioned to walk over to the doors. I smiled at him, my dress swishing at my thighs. I stumbled slightly in my shiny red platform heels as he towed me out of the doors and into the grounds of Hogwarts.
Cedric looked me in the eye before grinning and looking me up and down. I sighed; sometimes I wondered why we were out. I shied away, self conscious. The red chiffon dress had a ruffle down the front and ended just above my knee. I didn't wear any jewelry because the strapless dress made my shoulders look more delicate and girly instead of my boyish figure. The red heels brought me up to Cedric's chin and the golden clutch I held in my hand created the dress only a Gryffindor could wear. He grasped my hand and pulled me close, just holding me in his arms. We swayed in the cold night air, dancing in the twilight.
His robe dragged across the ground and his high collar rubbed against my cheek. I slipped slightly and stood on his toe.
"Ow!" he shouted as he brought his head down and I jumped up in surprised, hitting him with my knee. I bent down to look if he was ok as he brought his head up, bumping our heads together.
"Oh my God Cedric, are you ok?" I whispered, noticing some other souples look over.
"I think so." he muttered back holding his head in the same fashion as I did. "What about you?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Slight sore on my head though." I winced as he touched it.
"Come here." He whispered, smiling brightly.
I step into his arms as he kissed my head better. I blushed the same colour as my dress and looked down. Cedric popped his finger under my chin and lifted it up so I looked him in the eye.
"Shane? Why are you afraid? You're beautiful and I love you." I gaped. We hadn't said the l word yet!
"Because, because... I don't know." I sighed.
"Shut up."
He pressed his lips against mine in a chaste kiss. His hands cupped my face and mine hung at my sides. It promised me a future and care in his arms. So much was in something so little.
"I love you too."
"Well that's good because I want to dance - come on!" Cedric yelled.
I laughed. Who could ask for a better boyfriend. "Let's go lover boy."
He kissed me again before we ran inside and began to dance once again. Dancing in our fairytale.
