Your eyes widened when you saw tears form in his eyes.
You reached out and took the child from his arms.
Almost instantly, her cries died down. "Mother's instinct." Plume said, from behind the curtain.
She flew into view with a cheeky grin. "Plume and Happy- at your service," she said, pulling Happy's teary face into a smile.
"Hey." You greeted them, faintly. "This..." You cradled the child to your chest.
"This is Rin."
And almost as if on cue, she raised her tiny hands, and stretched. "Tiny..." Happy muttered, as if he was in a daze.
Plume flew towards the little girl, and smiled. "You're a quiet one..."
You looked up, when you heard the doctor. "About the other child..." You quietly said.
He raised an eyebrow, a concerned look on his face. "Yes?"
"Can you tell me about..." You trailed off.
"Him?" The doctor finished, nodding. "It was a boy."
You couldn't help, but tense up a bit. Natsu's hand gripped yours tightly.
"A boy- seemed perfectly healthy, yet he was turned upside down. Somehow."
Your eye twitched.
"What would you have named him?" Natsu whispered, in your ear.
Slightly startled, you look at him with wide eyes. "Rin would have worked, too."

Time skip to whenever you can bring a baby home
After being free from the hospital, you could move around, but you felt very tired.
"Hello, there." You cooed, swaddling baby Rin in your arms.
You were bringing Rin home- for the first time.
Lucas- being the excited big brother that he was- insisted on staying up to welcome his baby sister home.
And now, as Natsu opened the door, he almost tripped over him.
"Careful," he nodded towards the child. "He's sleeping."
You giggled when you saw Lucas slumped by the door- sleeping.
"He's so excited." You gave Rin over to Natsu, and petted Lucas on the head.
"Whoa!"
You turned your head, your eyes wide at Natsu's alarmed cry.
Baby Rin was bawling her head off, crying and screaming.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." Natsu tried to bounce the baby up and down. "Shh, why are you crying?"
You looked back at Lucas, who stirred in his sleep. "...mmh..." He slowly straightened, and brought his hands to his eyes.
And as he rubbed them, his eyes opened- revealing his golden eyes.
"Mama." He reached his arms out, and wrapped them around your neck.
"Hello!" You greeted him. "Were you a good boy for Juvia?"
You looked at the sleeping water Mage- she was a good friend, and she could easily get rid of his flames.
"Yeah! We played-" Lucas's eyes widened.
"The baby is here!!" He squealed, jumping up, and rushing to Natsu.
"Wait, wait, wait," you pulled him back, shaking your head.
"Don't do that." You sternly said. "Don't knock the baby over."
Lucas nodded, solemnly. "Yes, mama. I won't knock the baby over."
You let go of him.
"Good."
Lucas ran towards Natsu, hopping and trying to take a peek of the baby.
"I wanna see!" He craned his neck.
Natsu chuckled, and knelt- carrying Rin down with him.
"This is Rin...your baby sister." He introduced.
Lucas gingerly touched her pink face. "I'm Lucas." He said.
When the baby quieted down, Lucas looked up. "Why isn't she saying anything?"
"Because babies can't talk, silly." Plume and Happy flew in the door.
"Silly, silly." Happy echoed.
You grinned. "Are you going to be a good brother?"
Lucas puffed out his chest, proudly. "Lucas will be the best big brother for Rinny!"
'Rinny?'
