The two of you moved around the circle of flames, eyeing each other to prepare for any attack.
"You still want to keep fighting, hmm? Are you sure you're not an earthbender?" Oka hummed.
"Shut up." You muttered. But you considered his words. Maybe using the strategy of an earthbender could be beneficial...?
He launched two whips of water at you, which you blocked with two walls of void. You threw them at him as he took out chunks of the ice floe to throw at you. Dodging them, you noticed he left an opening to attack him everytime he winded up his throws.
Smirking, you shot him backwards with a whip of void, causing him to fall into the ocean, and then pierced through the war balloon and tossed the firebenders inside out as well.
"Maybe I would be a good earthbender!" You grinned. You could see Oka in the water, but for some reason, he wasn't moving. In fact, he looked panicked. You took your chance to make a move and engulfed him in a ball of void, entering it as well.
Even then, he still wasn't moving. He was... Struggling? Behind him, you saw a familiar face. "Mitarai?!"
The man who refused to torture you when Zhao tried forcing you to become a weapon for him.
"I... Is there anything I could do to make up for what I've done to you?" He asked, guilty. You let out a hum at his question.
"For every person you've harmed, and for every family you've hurt, help even more to heal." You replied, shutting your eyes and diving into the sea.
"Mitarai, you'd better let go of me if you know what's good for you!" Oka screamed.
Mitarai grunted as Oka continued to struggle, "If you knew what was good for you, you wouldn't be in this situation right now!"
"You're an idiot, Mitarai! An idiot!" Oka shouted.
You quickly pinned Oka down with ropes of void, watching him and Mitarai dubiously. They spoke with one another as if they knew each other...
Oka grinned maniacally and cackled, "Ahh, aha! You're both such idiots!" His expression suddenly turned serious and cold, "You never should've come here, Mitarai."
"Mitarai, what's going on?!" You exclaimed. "He—"
Oka barely managed to lift his hands, but as he did, both you and Mitarai froze. You gasped, feeling the blood in your body stop moving.
You began to twitch and convulse, unable to move. Just as the blood in your fingers was about to stop, you sent Mitarai out of the room of void.
Oka laughed breathily, eyes wide and dark. "Come on," He whispered, desperately, "Come on and do it..."
You trembled as you felt your blood go cold, pain in all of your veins. You felt sick.
There was no way you could defeat Oka, the two of you were at a stalemate. He could barely control you do to the void holding him back, but you couldn't move.
"Come on...! Do it already!" He shouted.
You winced as your veins tightened, causing you to twitch and tremble. There was no doubt in your mind—Oka was a mad man. How would you break free?
"Lso..." You mumbled, noticing a faint purple glow across your veins, "I need your help."
And just like that, your eyes turned pitch black, and your body was free. You and Lso moved in sync. You knew what you had to do.
Oka grinned as you entered the Awakening, laughing softly. He shut his eyes with a smile.
You grabbed his hands. His eyes widened in confusion.
