Endlessly Chasing

Momo began to make a ton of noise, annoying Sokka. He groaned, "Oh, don't tell me..."

Aang stood up, "That's impossible there's no way they could've tracked us." Toph shook her head, "I can feel it with my own two feet!"

Smoke was rising from afar, and the tank was making its way towards you all. "Let's get out of here." Katara said, not wanting a fight. "Maybe we should face them. Find out who they are. Maybe they're friendly."  Aang shrugged. You pat his shoulder, "Oh, you sweet summer child..."

The tank's doors opened, revealing three lizards and three girls. "It's those girls from Omashu!" Katara exclaimed. "We can take them, they're outnumbered. Four on three."
Sokka raised an eyebrow at Toph's words. "Um, actually, there's five of us."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't count you. You know, no bending and all." Toph said, causing an expression of unspeakable rage to form on Sokka's face. "I can still fight!" He yelled. A smug grin grew on Toph's face, "Okay, three on four plus Sokka."

You formed a large whip of void. For some reason, the lizards seemed to freeze at your movements. The girls were just as confused as you, so you took a chance and attack them while they were still in shock.

It was a good thing that you did, because Azula had prepared a lightning strike which you barely avoided on your way to Appa. "Yip yip!"

"Alright, you guys need to sleep. I'll fly Appa." You said, tapping Aang's shoulder. "Ah, thanks, Y/N." Aang let out a sigh of relief and laid down in Appa's saddle.

"Okay buddy, let's work together."

The sun was rising. Even you were starting to feel a bit drowsy. "Oh no. The sun is rising! We barely got any sleep!" Sokka groaned. "We'll be fine, Sokka."

"Are you sure? I've never not slept before! What if I fall asleep now and something happens?" Sokka began to anxiously chew on his fingernails, "And something always happens!"

"Every time we land, those girls are there. So we'll just have to keep flying." Katara said. "We can't keep flying forever." Aang muttered, worry making it's way on his face. "So... What's our plan?"

"Don't know... Too tired to think..." Toph mumbled, resting her back against the saddle. "I'm sure we'll come up with something after a short nap." Katara smiled, desperate for sleep.

"I don't think so!" You grit your teeth as Appa fell asleep, sending you all towards the ground. "Wake up, buddy!" Aang waved his hands around Appa's eyes.

Appa tried to keep flying, but he was too exhausted. He swerved into a few trees, snapping branches and leaves in your face. He plummeted down into the soil, leaving you all dazed and even more exasperated. A few moments after the impact, Appa drifted asleep.

"Poor thing... He really needs to rest." You sighed. "And so do we! There's a ton of distance between us and them, so let's follow Appa's lead and sleep!"
Sokka ordered.

"Of course, we could've gotten some sleep earlier, if Toph didn't have such issues!" Katara shouted. Toph stood up, furious. "What!?"

"All right, all right! Everyone's exhausted! Let's just get some rest." Aang said, trying to calm everyone down. "No, I want to hear what Katara has to say. You think I have issues?"

"I'm just saying, maybe if you helped out earlier, we could have set up our camo faster and gotten some sleep! And then maybe we wouldn't be in this situation!"
"You're blaming ME for this!?"
