Today was different. Today was... Special. A day that would normally be the cause of joy, and celebration, and a cheerful atmosphere. But today was grey. Dull.

You could hear rain falling outside. You watched as it gently knocked against your window, as if it were calling out to you. You were reminded of the sound of the ocean. When you would go fishing with your family. When you were separated from them.

Dozens and dozens of memories filled your head. Joyful, somber, tender, cold, complete, and hollow. So many contrasting pictures and voices filled your head. You felt... Scatterbrained.

It was like the pain you felt in that Fire Navy Ship was haunting you, waiting to pounce on you in a moment of weakness. It began seeping through the cracks in your heart and cutting through your dusty past.

You stood up and walked through the unfamiliar halls formed by people who would support authorities tormenting the ones you loved so dearly. It was getting harder to remember when you were truly happy. The soft warm hues of blue you recalled became muddied with shades of anger, confusion and sorrow.

You went outside into a world you were terrified of. One that could consume and corrupt you if caution wasn't taken. You wanted to fight back against them. You wanted them to feel the pain they brought you. But wouldn't that make you just as bad? Would you really be happy? And if she were still alive... Would she be happy? You felt so scatterbrained.

You felt droplets of water drip onto your foot. Then your legs. Then your shoulders. Then your head. Then out of your eyes.

You stared at the surrounding land. A gloomy feeling crawled deeper into your heart. What did you do to deserve anything that happened to you? Why are the people who damage the most lives the ones who get to smile? Why don't you smile at the idea of damaging theirs?

You found a large tree on top of a small hill. It stood alone. You sat down underneath it, clutching your mother's necklace. Katara, Sokka, Gran-gran, and your dad... You could only imagine how they felt. They probably thought you were dead.

You shut your eyes.

You could almost hear the voice of your mom. But when you tried to hear it a little clearer... It faded away. You could almost see her smile. But when you tried to see it a little clearer... It became a horrifying scribble covering her entire body. You could almost feel her hugging you. But you knew it was your brain trying to comfort you.

You felt scatterbrained. And you hated it. As much as you wanted to go back to when things were better... One key thing was gone forever. And it could never be brought back.

You wished you could run into your secret hideout, and find a place where you wouldn't feel so scatterbrained.

You opened your eyes, slowly.

"...Y/N? What are you doing out here? It's raining like crazy!" Someone exclaimed.. You looked up, shocked.

You saw a boy trying to block the rain with his arm, slowly approaching you as the wind blew through his hair. He walked all the way out here... For you?

"I should be asking the same question! What are you doing out here!?" You dragged him under the tree to keep him out of the rain. "I saw you going out. I was... Worried." Zuko muttered. "Well, you should've been more worried about yourself. You could catch a cold or something!" You sighed, leaning against the tree.

"...But... Thank you for caring." You gave him a small smile. "No problem. It's what I'm supposed to do. We're friends, aren't we?" Zuko replied. "Yeah. And since we're friends, if you got struck by lightning, I would slap you to death in the afterlife." You chuckled. Zuko paused and stared at you. "What's... Wrong?" You questioned.
