You fiddled with your mother's necklace. Things... Weren't good, but at least you were alright. Nothing bad could happen to your family, as long as the Firelord kept his word. You had a room of your own, but it was pretty empty since you didn't have a lot of items with you. There was a weird set of armor made for you, though. But it honestly only freaked you out and gave you bad memories. Who in their right mind makes actual armor for kids to wear?
"Excuse me, miss?" Your door was opened unexpectedly, making you jump off the bed. "Uh... Yeah?" You muttered. "The Firelord wishes to see you." You froze, but only for a moment. "Alright. Please knock before you enter my room." You sighed. "Why should I, really? It's not like you're royalty." The man who kicked your door open shrugged. "It's called human decency. But, of course you don't know about that." You stood up and exited your room.
What could that guy possibly want from you?

"I want you to assist my son as a weapon." Your soul almost left your body. "E-Excuse me, what?" You coughed awkwardly. "Don't make me repeat myself. I am aware you haven't mastered your power yet, but this could help both of you. Of course, if he doesn't want to use your bending to his advantage, you'll be left alone. But if he does, you'll be fighting on the battlefield."
So... This is how you were going to die. You were obviously going to be used as a weapon of war. And if you weren't strong enough... You'd die. "The name of my son is..."
"General... Iroh...?" You approached a man who was happily drinking a cup of tea.
"Yes, that would be me. Are you the bender my father sent t-" The man turned around and stared at you in shock.
"...A child." He mumbled.
"A kid." You corrected.
"...Here, have a seat." Iroh said, pointing to a chair.
Not wanting to obey the commands of a fire bender, you sat on the floor. "You might hurt your neck if-",
"I'm absolutely fine, and I can see perfectly well." You huffed.
The man let out a hum and slid another cup of tea to your end of the table. "So? When am I going to fight?" You asked, inspecting the tea.
"Eh? What makes you think I'd put a chi-... Kid like you on the battlefield? You haven't mastered your craft, and you aren't my daughter. I'm sure no mother would want their kid risking their life for a nation that isn't even their own." The man chuckled.
You stared at him, surprised. "..." Your surprise quickly vanished and was replaced with a more... Sorrowful feeling.
"You're right. She wouldn't want that at all. Especially if it was fighting for this nation. And honestly, I wouldn't want that either." You said, hesitantly taking a sip of the tea. Your eyes lit up.
"Oh? You like it?" A smile grew on the man's face. "N-No..." You lied, glancing to the side and taking another sip. "Maybe I could teach you how to make it! It'd be nice to have another person who respects tea around here." Iroh gave you a soft smile. "Yeah, that way I wouldn't have to check for poison." You giggled quietly. "Although, I am rather busy. Perhaps I could teach you after I conquer Ba Sing Se." You stopped drinking your tea and placed it on the table.
Right. He's planning to do... That. "May I be excused?" You questioned in a hushed tone. The man nodded, so you dashed back to your room. Although, there was an obstacle. It was a strange man. He seemed to be royalty, and his gaze was enough to make your insides want to be on your outside. "C-Can I help you, s-sir?" You stuttered, taking a step back. "You're the space bender, correct?" The man asked. You nodded, slowly.
"Then yes, there is certainly a way you could help me. Since my brother decided to leave you be..." Your eyes widened, "Then you shall become my weapon."
You didn't know what to say to that. You didn't even know this man's name. But the fear that seeped into your heart as he said those words...
"Ozai, what are you doing to that poor girl?" A woman ran towards the supposed "Ozai."
"I was merely informing her about how things are going to be for now on." He stated.
"Can't you see you're scaring her? I'm sure she understands whatever you were trying to say." The woman turned to you, "You were trying to enter your room, weren't you?" She inquired.
You gave her a nod. "Alright. But there's one more thing." The man, Ozai, walked towards you. "I am going to have you trained. That's all." He left the corridor after saying that. You couldn't even see a change of expressions on his face. Not the slightest bit of movement from any part of his face, other than his mouth. You hated it.
"I'm sorry about that. I'm known as Ursa." The woman said, kneeling down in front of you. "You're... His wife?" You raised an eyebrow. Ursa let out a sigh and nodded.
"You don't seem as awful as him. I don't like you, mainly since I just met you, but... I feel like you deserve better." You hummed. She looked at you, surprised, but then let out a soft laugh. "I think... You would get along with my son." She smiled. "His name is Zuko."
"...Prince Zuko... Is your son?" You said, flabbergasted. "Ah, you've met him! That's great. I also have a daughter..." You were bewildered. Why would anyone want to have kids with... That?
"Her name is Azula. Do you think you could try to befriend her? Lead her on the right path? I'm worried about her..." Ursa whispered. "Ah, I shouldn't force that on you. But please, at least talk to her. You seem like a caring girl, and I'm sure she could use a friend like you."
You paused for a second, but gave the woman a thumbs up.
You entered your room and plopped onto the bed. "I'm gonna be trained by that guy. Ugh..."
