The Awakening

"Sailing on Fire Nation waters... Of all the foolish things you've done in your sixteen years, Prince Zuko, this is the most foolish!" Iroh said. You were on the main deck with Zuko, Iroh, and a few crew members. You were given the message to change into the Fire Nation soldier uniform given to you by a crew mate. And boy was it uncomfortable .

"I have no choice, Uncle." Zuko replied, his eyes locked on the skies and ocean. "Have you forgotten the Fire Lord banished you? What if you're caught?" Iroh asked worriedly. Banished...? "I'm chasing the Avatar! My father will understand why I am returning home!" Zuko huffed, turning away from his telescope to face his uncle. "You give him too much credit. My brother is not the understanding type!" Iroh lectured, somewhat aggravated.

"There they are. Helmsman! Full steam ahead!" Zuko yelled, peering into his telescope again. A catapult was raised onto the deck, loaded with a steaming, gross projectile. "Uh, really Prince Zuko, couldn't you shoot them with something more fragrant?" Iroh muttered, turning away and fanning himself. "Preach. I would rather smell Sokka's breath than this." You pinched your nose.

Zuko lit the projectile with a punch of fire. "On my mark. Fire!" You turned away from everything going on, not wanting to witness it. "A blockade..." Zuko whispered. You peeked through your fingers to see a large number of Fire Navy ships with a large number of catapults.

"Technically, we are still in Earth Kingdom waters. Turn back now and they cannot arrest you." Iroh said. Zuko didn't respond to Iroh's words. "Please Prince Zuko! If the Fire Nation captures you, there is nothing I can do! Do not follow the Avatar." Iroh begged. "I'm sorry, Uncle." Zuko lowered his head and clenched his fists. "Run the blockade!" He yelled, jerking upwards. You stared at him in disbelief. How determined was he?

Dozens of fireballs were launched into the clouds and at Zuko's ship. You bit your fingernails, a bit stressed. You were barely avoiding the attacks. "Prince Zuko! The engines are damaged! We need to stop and make repairs!" The engineer shouted. "Do not stop this ship." Zuko commanded.

Appa, Aang, Katara, and Sokka flew past the countless amount of fireballs sent towards him. You watched in horror as two fireballs crashed and exploded right in front of them. You could hear Sokka's scream as he fell of Appa's back. "NO!" You yelled, quickly forming a lasso of void to catch him and carry him back safely on Appa.
You both locked eyes for a short moment, before Appa had to continue dodging fireballs.

You had already showcased your warping of space, so you decided to block as many fire balls as you could. Two ships sailed towards each other, daring to block Zuko's path. "We're on a collision course!" Iroh shouted. "We can make it!" Zuko yelled, confident.

The ships in the blockade came to an abrupt stop and Zuko's ship moved between them. You and Zhao gazed at each other with hatred. He knew you were alive. And you had no doubt he would try to make your life as dreadful as possible.

"What's he up to, Uncle? Why didn't Commander Zhao arrest me?" Zuko questioned. "Because he wants to follow you. He knows you'll lead him to the prize you're both after." Iroh hummed. "Aang..." You muttered. "If Zhao wants to follow a trail of smoke, that's exactly what I'll let him do." Zuko said. You decided to test something out.

You were able to focus and see the properties of everything around you. So maybe... You could change the actual properties void itself? You shut your eyes and imagined your void becoming grey and cloud like. You could feel your fingers moving. "Y/N? What are you-" Zuko let out a gasp as he saw purple cracks creeping up your arms.

You were forming it, even if it was just a tiny amount. You had to focus on the smoke coming from the ship itself to form anything at all. If you didn't understand how the thing you were creating worked, you couldn't create it at all.
