Meerab Waqas Ahmed was a free spirited and a young independent woman, deeply inspired by her father's journey and career. Even as a child, she would sit by her father's side to see him solving complex and complicated cases, she was captivated by the by the cases he studied. Also being their only child, she possessed a knack make her parents fulfill all of her wishes. Yet she remained obedient and truthful towards her parents.

She respected their rules despite growing up in an progressive society. While she embraced the customs and traditions, she couldn't help but be frustrated by the set by standards for men and women. Always dictated by what men and women "should" pursue.

However, Meerab had some tricks up on her sleeve to convince her father to allow her to study law. When she bought up this topic, he hesitated and said,
"Can't you consider something else? A little with art background. Social science or medicine field perhaps? Those fields are more suited to girls."

It did nothing but add to her frustration meerab felt. She was determined to change his way of thinking and mind.

"Baba you are my role model. I want to follow your footsteps and become a lawyer." She implored, tugging at his heartstrings. But he held his ground, "No girl has ever done this in our family before how can I meerab? He countered.

Refusing to give up, she continued, her eyes glistening with tears.
" Please baba, this is my deepest wish of my heart. Grant me this, I promise I'll not ask for anything else."
Her earnestness finally wore down his resistance and he relented, enveloping her in a tight hug.

" But this is the last time we are having this discussion okay? Nothing more than LLB okay " He voiced his conditions.

" Meerab you do remember the marriage conversation we have recently. You should prepare yourself mentally for it by the time you graduate." Her mother joined the conversation, looking nervously at her husband. Determined not dampening her mood, meerab nodded unconsciously, focusing on celebrating her hard earned victory for now.

Five strenuous years later, Meerab stood proudly with her LLB degree. Her father's eyes swelled with pride at her achievement. "Let's celebrate" he exclaimed, announcing a party and inviting Shahnawaz and his family. But meerab argued, " Baba is it necessary to invite everyone on my birthday? Can't we just celebrate it within us."

Nevertheless, her father persisted, "Meerab it's only Shahnawaz and his family."

Shahnawaz was a dominating and rigid man who adhered strictly to his principles. His honor and dignity was paramount important to him. His fuedal upbringing further ingrained his traditional views, making him resolute when Waqas discussed his daughters wish to study law.
" Waqas tum iske baare mein soch bhi kaise sakte ho? Ab hamari gahr ki betiyan wakil ki padhai karengi?" He argued, his stance unwavering.

" Nahi, Shahnawaz Aisa nahi hai. Tumhe toh pata hai na meerab kitni kareeb hai mere, Mera Dil tutta hai. She genuinely wants this, and i can't bring myself to deny her." Waqas defended, keeping his perspective infront of him.

But alas he couldn't understand and ended up having a verbal disagreement.

Murtasim khan was a calm and calculative person. He was far too wise for his age. And there were times when he shocked the whole panchayat with his strong decisions. No could believe he was just 25 year old influencing the older men of late forties and fifties. His decisions often surprised them. His manner of speaking was marked by a confidence that came from understanding matters deeply.

Murtasim's presence was a testament to a power of modern education blended with traditional values and not leaving it's ground. He effortlessly bridged the gap
between the generations, earning respect for his actions rather than his age. Balancing his new obligations, he found no or little time to his personal interests.

This is why the thought of attending Waqas Ahmed daughter's graduation party in Lahore jber the weekend didn't settle well with him. He was in his father's office when he was informed of the planned trip.

" It's meerab's graduation party this weekend. We all have been invited." His father conveyed to him.

Murtasim, maintaining his calm said,
" Baba sahab, is it absolutely necessary for me to go."

His father, firm in his stance said, " It's necessary murtasim Waqas is our family. We should attend family functions."

Murtasim was about to retort, but his father interjected with authority.
" No more arguments. Maine keh Diya na hum jayenge. "

Murtasim acknowledged his father's decision with a quiet agreement.
" Jaisa aap kahe."

With that, Murtasim left to prepare for their upcoming journey to Lahore, his controlled demeanor masking his reluctance and dejection - a skill he had mastered over years.
