He looked down at his foot before being thrown around.

Mar turned to me and raised his hand.

Before he could do anything, I threw Judas at him. They screamed and hit the cement wall.

I coughed a bit but my smoke grew until it covered them.

I could hear them coughing and feel them trying to escape.

Once everything went quiet, I retreated my smoke and closed my eyes.

My head was spinning.

"AN UNEXPECTED VICTORY FOR X FROM GROUP!"

Everyone cheered and I was lifted up.

I woke up in my bed.

"Ah, you're awake! Amazing comeback, kiddo." Lantern smiled.

"You did great. Good job moving on to the next round." Chip nodded.

"Wait. I have to do that again!?"

I sat up and groaned.

"Yup. Tomorrow."

"I don't wanna."

"You kinda have to kid." Lantern smiled gently.

"Ugh." I groaned.

"We'll let you rest." Chip said and they walked out, leaving me alone.

It was quiet.

I closed my eyes and tried to rest.

"One thing. I asked you to promise me one thing."

I opened my eyes again and looked at King.

"What?" I asked.

"Don't win! I told you not to win! Now you're closer to having to fight me!" King ran a hand through his longish hair.

"Huh?"

"Vera, the final fighter isn't gonna go easy on you! Neither is the person you have to fight tomorrow!"

"Are you the final fighter?"

"I can't tell you that!"

"It's not like I tried to win! I just didn't want to get hurt or make Group look weak!"

"It's better to be seen as weak then continue on with this bloodshed game!"

"Why do you care so much?!"

"Because I like you, Vera! I like you and I don't like you being hurt!"

"I would throw a pillow at you but I don't know which of the four blurry images you are."

"Oh my gosh..." He facepalmed.

"I'm tired. Let me rest."

"Fine!"

He disappeared.

Then he reappeared.

"I forgot to give you these!" He put down some flowers on the nightstand. "And wear shin guards! I like to go for the shins!"

He tucked me in and planted a kiss on my forehead.

Then he disappeared again.

What a weirdo.

"VICTORY FOR X OF GROUP!"

What!? Not again! How!?

Oh, King is gonna kill me!

Especially if he's the final player!

People cheered and I stumbled to my feet.

I walked out the door and soon was hugged by all my classmates.

"Vera, that was amazing!"

"I thought you were down for good, amazing surprise attack!"

"Are you okay?"

"Let's all stop bombarding her. She needs to rest for tomorrow's final match." Lantern said and helped me to my room.

"I don't wanna fight the final contestant."

"I'm afraid you have no choice, Vera."

"You don't seem to happy about all these games." I said and he looked surprised.

"No. I don't like watching my students get hurt but I know it's better here than in the streets."

"What if I'm not healed by tomorrow."

"You will be." Lantern left me in my room and I showered.

I was cut and bruised all over.

I sighed and got dressed.

Knock knock knock.

I opened the door and found Luna and Sebastian.

"Hey guys." I smiled and looked at them through my swollen eye.

"Oh you poor thing." Luna frowned.

"Come in." I stepped aside and they walked into my room.

I closed the door and turned around.

"Oh!" I blinked as Luna hugged me.

"There. Is that better?"

I blinked and looked around my body.

All the pain and marks were gone.

I was healed.

I smiled at her.

"Thank you, Luna."

I hugged her back.
