I walked through the short grass.

It was the next day.

There was a car parked in the street, seats on a small billboard where the two men from yesterday sat and tables in the park to watch today's games.

I saw my aunt and her two daughters talking together at a wooden table.

They waved at me when they saw me and I waved back.

"Have you seen my sister?" I asked walking over to them.

"Nope."

"No, sorry."

"Oh, yeah! She's on the hill. At the fence."

"Thank you, Cider."

She smiled at me and Angel took a bite of the cake in front of her.

"Is it dry?" I asked and Angel shook her head, giving me thumbs up.

"It's perfect as always, Vera." My aunt Elena smiled.

I tugged at my sleeves nervously.

"I made it in a rush last night."

"Don't be nervous. You're gonna do fine." Tia Elena laughed.

"I better."

"You will. Don't worry." Cider smiled.

My watch buzzed and I swallowed.

"I have to go. If I fail, please kill me."

"Just hurry! Don't keep your partner waiting!"

I nodded and walked to the tent.

"Vera Zamora?"

I nodded at the woman holding a clip board.

She looked tired.

I glanced at who I'll guessing is supposed to be her partner.

He was playing with a Rubiks cube.

"This is Mr. Chap Anderson. I'm Camilla De La Rosa. This is your partner for todays contest."

She's blond, light skinned and tall.

Chap is tall, blond, white and probably taller than her.

I turned my attention to my partner.

"Hello! My name is Judas Jake! My friends call me JJ!"

He was about 5'7, dyed blue hair, tan skin and brown eyes.

Judas... that's a strange name.

I should probably smile back now.

"My name is Vera Zamora. Nice to meet you." I smiled and we shook hands.

"Alright you two. Out you go." Camilla ushered us out and we walked towards the park.

"You bitch."

I turned to look at Judas with a look of surprise.

"Huh?"

"You think I didn't see the way you looked at me when I said my name, huh!?"

"We'll, it is a strange name."

"You bitch!"

"Calm down. I didn't say anything."

He jumped In front of me and shoved me back.

"You didn't have to say a word! Your face said it all!"

"I don't have much of a problem with your name. Although, I do wish I wasn't partnered with someone who's namesake was a trader." I walked around him and made my way to the park.

A tall man was tossing a bag of blood in the air, watching us walk towards him.

"Vera and Judas?" He asked as we finally reached him.

"Yes sir." We both said and he grinned.

"Perfect. You two ready to fight me?"

"Yes sir!"

"Good. Remember, this test decides if you get to get trained to become heroes of the world. Do your best if this is really what you want to do for the rest of your lives. Don't waste The Departments time."

"Sir yes sir!"

"Alright! Let's begin!"

His mic was suddenly on and the crowd around us cheered.

I looked over at my aunt and cousins who gave me thumbs up.

I nodded and took out my daggers.

Remember... don't pop the bag of blood... don't pop it...

Beep... beep... beep... BEEP!

I ran forward and the man laughed, strapping the blood bag to his chest.

I wonder what his name is.

That's not important right now.

"AGH!" I fell as I was shoved by Judas and he pulled out his hand gun.

He had a huge grin on his face as he pulled the trigger.

Bastard.
