The wine was on the counter, cheese and crackers on the living room table.
Evan pulled me into a small hug and pecked me on the forehead.
"I'm telling you, the cheese and crackers are a good idea, everyone can share."
"I'd rather we ordered a pizza." I mumbled but let it slide.
This was all his idea after all.
"You promised you'd compromise." He said eyeing me.
"Yea Yea." I said waving him away.
"When did you say Lilly and her boyfriend would be here?" He asked looking at his watch.
"Four, but she's always late." I said rolling my eyes noticing that it was almost four thirty.
A knock at the door drew my attention away from the wine bottle I was trying to force open.
"I'll get it." I said grabbing the bottle and trying to pull the cork out while walking.
"If you ordered a pizza I swear to god!" Evan called from the kitchen
I pulled the door open as I laughed.
"I didn't it's probably-"
The words died on my lips and my heart dropped to my feet.
"Aren't you going to invite me in?"
The words came from lips twisted in a mischievous hint of a smile.
The wine bottle fell to the floor, shattering and spraying wine all over my white shoes and his black ones.
