The door was now open about a foot, I tossed the book into the cell and Loki started to walk towards it.
I let out a breath of relief and pulled the door closed.
Before I could hear the click signaling the lock had engaged, it ripped open and out of my grasp.
A flash of green was all I saw before an invisible force drug me into the cell and then my hair was wrapped around long pale fingers, the other set wrapping around my throat tightly.
"Anna!" Evan yelled as he pointed his gun at us and blocked the entrance of the cell.
I felt the cool leather of Loki's chest as he locked me against him
"I trusted you." I seethed trying to thrash out of his grip.
"A horrible decision really." He purred in my ear.
"Loki, let her go. Don't come any closer!" Evan yelled as Loki maneuvered us forward slowly, using me as a shield.
"I don't think so." He chuckled tightening his hold on me possessively.
"I'm warning you!" Evan shouted trying to get a good shot at the escaping god without me getting in the way.
"Just shoot him!" I yelled before my air was cut off completely by Loki's fingers tightening even more around my neck.
"Time to go." He said in my ear, I could hear the sick bastards smile in his voice.
A gunshot made my ears ring but the sound was cut off quickly as wind roared in my ears.
The next thing I knew I was being dropped on the ground into damp grass.
I gasped in air and choked as it burned down my throat entering my lungs.
Tears welled in my eyes as I gulped down the sweet oxygen, my fingers fisted in the grass ripping it from the ground as my head spun.
I couldn't see straight and I had the sudden urge to throw up everything I'd eaten that day.
I felt myself being ripped up off the ground by a hand clamped around my arm.
"Don't touch me!" I screamed shoving at him blindly.
"Relax your just experiencing the effects of teleporting." He said sounding bored but letting me go.
My vision cleared some and I blinked away the rest of the stars as he came into focus in front of me.
He was watching me closely as I wildly spun around taking in our surroundings.
We were in the middle of a field, a vast sea stretched out beyond the grassy cliff we were on.
The sky look black and bruised, covered in dark clouds that threatened to pour down rain any minute.
My eyes franticly searched for civilization but I only found rolling hills.
"Where did you take us?" I snapped rushing towards him.
He smirked but said nothing.
"Answer me!" I yelled swinging at him.
He disappeared and then reappeared behind me, shoving me, sending me to my knees into the damp earth.
I got up quickly and turned around faster than he anticipated, catching him in the face with a right hook.
He wiped his mouth and his eyes narrowed before he grabbed me by the front of my shirt to lift me off the ground to meet his height. My hands grabbed onto his wrists to keep my shirt of ripping clean off by the uneven weight distribution.
"If you want to live you won't do that again." He whispered into my face.
Thunder clapped somewhere in the sky and I shivered, I couldn't tell if it was from incoming storm or from Loki's words.
I believed him, with every fiber of my being I believed him.
He dropped me to my feet and turned away, looking for something across the field.
"Why did you bring me with you, why not escape on your own?" I snapped taking my glasses off and cleaning the condensation from them before shoving them back into my nose.
He glanced back at me but didn't respond.
"Why did you-"
"Don't question me! You'll know only what you need to know." He snapped whirling around to face me.
"What use could I possibly have for you, a hostage?"
My voice cracked a little and I hated myself for it.
"Possibly."
"Perhaps I just enjoy your mundane company." He said stepping way to close to me.
He was toying with me, like a cat would a mouse.
"Fuck.you." I spat at him shoving him away from me.
He let out a breath of mock offense and I wanted to hit him again to wipe it off his face.
"Come, we are going now." He said reaching for me.
I shook my head and stepped back, determined to get away from him or die trying.
I turned and took off running, he appeared in front of me and tried to grab me but I side stepped and kept running as fast as my feet would carry me.
I saw the cliff side and ran for it.
When I got closer I realized maybe this wasn't such a good plan, but I went for it anyway.
I was a strong swimmer and if I could clear the rocks I had a chance. Maybe a boat would fish me out of the icy water if I was lucky.
My feet had just left the cliff side and my body soared through open air before arms encircled me and I was yanked back through a small pocket of time and space.
I smacked into the grass, rolling with Loki holding me close to him as we came out the other side.
We came to a stop and I clawed away from him, crawling on my hands and knees to freedom.
I felt a strong hand grip my ankle and I was ripped back and flipped around to face him. He grabbed my my wrists as I attempted to pummel him and pinned above me so tight I hissed in pain as my bones crushed against each other in his grip.
"Are you insane, you would have died." He snapped down at me, chest heaving in effort from our struggle.
"Better than being your leverage." I said equally as breathless.
He stared down at me and then let me go, shoving me slightly as he got up.
"Very well." He muttered walking away from me.
I stood there watching him walk away as rain started to sprinkle down from the sky.
He disappeared again and the rain came down harder than I'd ever felt it before.
