As I rode up to the palace I could see a few hundred people gathered in the palace courtyard.
It was quiet, to quiet.
"Get out of the way!" I yelled as I rode through the masses.
People jumped out of my way as the horse barreled through them.
I could see Loki, on his knees, with his hands shackled behind his back and his eyes closed. A man stood above him and held a sithe high in the air. My feet hit the ground so hard it made my ankles ring.
I watched as the blade moved down, slicing the air as it did so. My legs burned from the effort.
"Stop!" I screamed as I threw myself on top of Loki's body shielding him from the long curved blade.
"Anna?" He said opening his eyes and craning to look up at me.
I was grabbed by my arms and pulled off him.
"Wait!" I yelled kicking my legs trying to free myself.
"Let her go." Thor said walking up to me quickly.
I was let go roughly and fell to my knees on the concrete.
"What are you doing?" Thor said looking at me with pity. "You shouldn't be here."
"Why not the whole fucking kingdom came to watch!"
I yelled giving them all death glares.
My eyes landed on a tall hooded person, he was standing behind a few of the spectators but I couldn't see his face. He was the only one in the crowd with a cloak on in this heat, it struck me odd even in the current predicament.
"You should go." Thor said taking my hand and trying to pull me away.
"No!" I yelled running to stand in front of Odin.
"Let me say goodbye at least." I pleaded "Please."
Odin glanced down at my closed fist and then back up to me.
I was afraid he'd turn me away but after what felt like an eternity he nodded in agreement.
I let out a breath of relief and ran to where Loki kneeled and sank to my knees.
"Are you hurt?" I asked moving his hair to the side and checking his neck.
"No I think you made sure I get to keep my head a little longer." He said glancing up at the executioner.
He leaned up to a half kneel position.
"Everything is going to be okay." I promised him.
"Please, don't watch."
I'd never heard his voice so small, it was heartbreaking.
I leaned in and kissed him softly, a thousand words were on his lips.
I could feel them weighing on him but he settled with what he thought was his last kiss.
"It's time to go." I whispered into them.
I pulled away from his lips and turned to look up at the king.
"All hail the murderous alfather." I yelled with hateful conviction, meeting the kings eye.
The crowd gasped and murmurs went through the gathering at the blasphemy.
Before Loki could question me I crushed the ball in my hand and wrapped my arms around him as tight as I could.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the cloaked person shove people aside, his hood swayed giving me a view of gray skin, his face pulled back into a sneer.
I felt our bodies being pulled into space and time and the familiar flip of my stomach as we disappeared without a trace.
