"Where are we going?" I asked as he let me down a narrow flight of stairs.
I didn't remember going up stairs on the way to the room and realized Loki must have carried me up them after I'd passed out on the floor when I'd tried to shake the life out of him.
"Do you just ever shut up and wait for the answer that's clearly about to present itself?"
I frowned but clamped my mouth shut.
He wanted me to shut up? Fine.
We walked down the stairs to the main floor into the bar from last night. It looked much less lively this early in the morning.
"Sit." He ordered as he took a seat at one of the tables.
I gave him a pointed look and continued to stand with my arms crossed. He groaned and ran his hand over his face in annoyance.
"Please sit." He said growling through his teeth.
I nodded, sat down but kept my lips firmly shut.
The waitress came over and asked for our order,
She looked to me to go first but I said nothing.
"She'll have nothing if she doesn't order." Loki said challenging me.
My stubbornness outweighed my hunger at the moment.
"Get us sweet bread." He snapped at the waitress.
"Sweet bread?" She asked him confused, the glare he sent her way made the woman gulp, nod and walk away muttering to herself.
"Are you doing this to agitate me?" He asked eyeing me from across the table.
I glanced at him and then looked away out the window.
He slammed his fist on the table making coffee mugs on their saucers rattle.
"Can't get you to shut up and now you won't speak." He muttered.
I stayed silent the entire time we waited for our food, and when it came the waitress slid a plate of pancakes in front of each of us, which I guess was a good guess for whatever sweetbread was supposed to be.
Loki was about to eat but realized I wasn't making any moves towards my food.
"Eat, I don't need you passing out again." He snapped.
The pancakes smelled amazing, the maple infused scent drifted up my nostrils and made my mouth water but I leaned back in my chair leveling him with a bored look.
He sighed and then looked down at the plate, a confused look spread on his face and he called the waitress back over.
"What have you given me?" He snapped at her.
I watch with horrified amusement at his ignorance.
"Panca-sweetbread?" She said hesitantly.
"You had one job!" He yelled so loudly it made me jump. "Your job is to serve food, how much of an imbecile are you?"
I couldn't help the quick smile of amusement that spread on my face. He was like a child, a spoiled, foreign child.
I quickly wiped the smile off my face realizing the poor waitress was at the other end of his anger and it was likely my fault he was taking it out on her.
She opened her mouth to say something but he cut her off.
"Enough, leave us."
She gave us a dirty look and walked away quickly obviously not finding it worth her time to argue with him.
Loki turned his angry glare towards me.
"Are you amused?" He asked hotly.
I hadn't realized my smile hadn't completely disappeared. In this moment he really did remind me of a spoiled little boy, and for some reason I found it funny.
"What?" He snapped
When he realized I was still committed to my vow of silence he grabbed his fork and speared an entire top pancake with it.
"Tell me, what is this."
"Pancakes." I said after a few moments.
He seemed to visually relax as I spoke, it seemed I found something that bugged him more than my talking.
Me ignoring him completely.
He took a bite slowly and seemed to like it.
My stomach rejoiced with the food filling it as I inhaled the fluffy breakfast food.
"Where are we?" I asked after we ate in silence for a few minutes.
He looked up clearly not pleased with me asking questions.
"You wanted me to talk, so I'm talking. Where are we Loki?" I asked trying to be gentle.
It seemed if my temper flared, so did his own. So maybe I'd take some advice from Fury and play nice.
"Ireland."
"What the hell!" I whispered leaning across the table so others wouldn't hear the panic in my voice.
"Where in Ireland?"
He raised an eyebrow at me, clearly not going to answer that one.
"A small town, somewhere know one will look, at least until I can figure out a plan. " He said.
"What is your plan?"
"I don't know." He snapped.
I was shocked to see plain honesty from him, it was a little unnerving.
Someone without a plan, in a desperate situation was dangerous..they made rash and often times volatile decisions.
"What do you want?" I asked watching him closely, like I might sneak peek into his mind.
"I don't know." He said looking away from my prying gaze.
"Look, if you take us back to SHEILD, Thor is coming back soon to take you home, he's trying to get the court to pardon you." I said moving some pancakes around on my plate.
"From death." He said distastefully.
"He's trying to-"
"How do you know of my brother's plans?" He asked suddenly, his eyes snapping back to mine.
I watched him try to fit the pieces together in his mind.
I realized I'd let slip that I'd known more about his situation than I was supposed to.
"I-"
He bolted to his feet, grabbed me by the arm and hauled me up dragging me back up the stairs to the room.
"Let go!" I yelled trying to rip away from him.
I hadn't been truly afraid of him since the prison cell but I was afraid now.
He tossed me inside and slammed the door behind him with his foot.
"Who are you, really?" He snarled.
"I'm Anna." I said backing up from him.
"And Who are you Anna."
He took two large steps forwards and grabbed me again, dragging me back towards him.
His fingers dug into my arm so hard I was sure I'd have bruises.
"I don't know what you mean." I lied.
"How would you know anything about Asgard?"
His green eyes were ablaze and I could tell he was trying to fit all the pieces of my deception together.
"Jane." I said quickly. "She worked with me, we were friends."
He let me go and watched me rub my arm.
"Jane." He spat like it left a bad taste in his mouth.
I held my arm and watched him closely, looking for any signs he was about to attack.
If he tried to hurt me, I wouldn't go down without a fight.
"If you are lying.." He stalked up to me and I backed up to the wall, pressing my back to the hard plaster.
His finger went under my chin and lifted it so I was looking directly at him.
"Ill leave you you somewhere no one will ever find your body." He leaned in and whispered into my lips.
