The woods were eerie to say the least.
Small odd bugs flew from tree to tree, startling and darting off as we passed.
"Why isn't there a map to this pond?" I groaned.
"Nasa is a legnd, some speculate that she doesn't exist." Bane said absentmindedly.
I sent him a glare and he gave me an aplogetic look back.
"After everything I've been through I'm pretty much open to anything."
We fell back into silence as I wandered and they followed.
"Anna, it might be time to admit that there's no pond." Leza said bringing his horse to mine.
I didn't respond just continued looking through the darkness for any sign of Nasa or her fabled pond.
A branch broke somewhere near us and my horse neighed nervously.
Bane and Leza drew their swords. A bunny jumped out from a bush making us all chuckle with relief. I turned back to give the men crap for being afraid when the small creature scurried across the path, spooking my horse. She threw herself onto her back legs and took off faster then I could calm her. My fists clenched the reigns to stay upright on the crazed horse, I laid myself as low as I could on the saddle to avoid branches hitting my face and arms. She stopped suddenly making me jerk violently forward and topple from the saddle.
A groan escaped my lips and I closed my eyes to ward away the headache that started from the back of my skull. I heard hoofs come to a stop next to me and I felt myself being picked up gently to my feet.
"Are you okay?" Bane asked holding me by my arm.
"I think so." I said shaking the leaves and dirt from my hair.
"Where's my horse?" I asked looking around to only see two horses.
"She probably walked off that way, Bane go find her." Leza said to the young man.
"I think we found your pond." He said pointing behind me after the young soldier clicked his teeth to his own mare.
I whirled around and saw sparkling blue water a few feet from us. My heart danced in relief as I walked up to it.
For the most part it looked like a normal pond with no extra ordinary properties. It was small with a large towering rock wall on the farthest side of the pond. I pulled out the page from my waist and smoothed it out the best I could.
The picture showed some type of paint or chalk smeared in an odd symbol on wall behind the goddess, while she floated above the water, but other than that it was almost identical.
"How to we conjure her?" He asked just as confused as I was
"I'm not sure.."
On closer inspection I noticed that there were small italic words on the corner of the page. I squinted and realized they weren't English
"Raza hem el sinsetrayr.." I whispered trying to sound out the words
"Sounds like magic to me." Leza chuckled.
I glanced at the rock wall and then back to the picture.
"I think I'm supposed to make these marking and say these words to call her." I said softly.
Leza took the picture from me and eyed it.
"Looks like blood." He said pointing to what I had originally thought was paint.
I rolled my eyes and asked for the dagger on his boot.
I shed my own boots and waded into the water with the daggers blade between my teeth.
The water was unnaturally cold as I swam to the wall.
"Here goes nothing.." I whispered cutting my palm and smearing the blood in a half circle and then three dots under it.
"Raza hem el sinsetrayr." I said swimming back a little bit and treading water with my good hand.
Nothing spectacular happened making my heart fall.
I held my injured hand above the water as I swam back crestfallen.
I slipped on the ground on my way out of the pond and plunged it into the cold water while cursing.
My ears suddenly felt like the pressure was building and a white light exploded behind me. Leza ripped me out of the water but I broke free from his grasp and turned around to see an angelic looking woman walking to me across the water.
"Nasa?" I breathed.
"Why have you called me?" She asked sounding like her voice was coming from several places at once.
"I need your help. I need a wish."
She smiled but it didn't seem kind hearted, in fact it made the hair on my arms stand on end in caution.
"You and everyone else."
"Please, I need it to save a life."
"Well that is interesting, and what would you wish for?" She asked looking down at me.
"I.." I paused realizing I didn't know what I'd do with the wish once I had it.
She raised her eyebrow at my pause.
"Can I wish to change someone's fate?" I asked.
"There's limitations to even my gifts" She said annoyed at having to admit it.
I bit my lip and thought hard.
"What about magic?"
"Magic?" She said sounding amused.
"Yes, can I wish to have magic, like teleportation?"
Loki might not be able to teleport with the bonds they had him in, but if I could, then I could get us both out of here.
"What would you have to offer me for this type of wish?" She tapping her fair cheek.
"I don't have anything.." I said my heart sinking.
I should have known, no wish came for free. Loki had told me as much.
"Then you waste my time." She snapped turning away.
"Wait!"
She glanced over her shoulder.
"I have this!"
I thrust my hand out to show the glinting bracelet.
"Odin himself conjured it!"
She turned back around and took my wrist, smirking.
"Did he now? And what does it do?"
"It has binding magic." I said hoping that was worth something.
"The alfather does have some neat toys, I suppose one of his trinkets would be worth what you ask."
She snapped her fingers and the bracelet appeared in her hand and then disappeared.
"Use my gift wisely, it can only be used once. It will teleport you to the first place within the realm you think of when activated."
"In the realm? As in Asgard?" I asked disappointed I could get us farther away.
"Are you complaining about my gift?" She snapped at me.
"No!" I said quickly.
"All you need to do, is crush it." Her voice echoed as she disappeared as suddenly as she had appeared.
I felt something in my hand and looked down to see a glass looking ball with moving light blue and gold sand inside it.
"You did it!" Leza breathed.
"I did it." I whispered equally as shocked.
"What now?"
"I go back to the palace." I said strongly holding my chin high.
I climbed onto Leza's horse and apologized for the theft.
"I can't wait for Bane to find my horse, I need to go now."
"Go!" He yelled smacking his horse and sending it off.
I held the gift in my hand gently as to not brake it and prayed that I'd make it in time.
